Ask questions or post suggestions about books that would be ideal for Around the World.

There is a goodreads group that does Around the World challenges and they have compiled a list of websites that you may find helpful.
I suspect we've all got our plans by now. I doubt I'd ever be looking for Mauritius, but a friend just shared The Last Brother, takes place in that country by an author from that country. For future challenges? WWII setting (if we ever do that) and translated.
I'm going to have to switch out a book that I have decided doesn't qualify. Daniel Alarcón, was born in Peru, but he came to the US at an early age, and as a student won the Fulbright Scholarship which is awarded to US citizens. He strongly identifies with Latin America and he might have dual citizenship, but I couldn't find any reference to such.Anyway, I'm trying to decide what to shoehorn into my remaining itinerary. I have a thought about a couple of books that would work for Africa instead. But I thought I would come here and ask if you found any Antarctica books absorbing reading.
And, of course, for Peru there is also Mario Vargas Llosa. I read his The Storyteller for an anthropolgy class in school and also really enjoyed Aunt Julia and the Scriptwriter.

Ended up choosing one of my Africa choices; I added the Antarctica book to my wish list, but right now it has to be put on hold, and I don't know how long the wait might be. I have one book for AtW that I need make sure to get to because the only town copy is in the high school library and after early May I won't be able to borrow it.
I got my ebook of Mountains of Madness from Manybooks for free, and as far as I can see, they're decent and legit...
