SOLVED. JFK clone? [s]

A young man is a clone of JFK -- it's either stated directly or strongly hinted. He lives in the LA area in the near future. As he grows up, his family history is manipulated to produce some of the same situations that JFK had growing up. I think a sister of his dies because of breathing difficulties; oxygen bars may be a reality. There is a strong conspiracy about his future political prospects. I read this at least 15-20 years ago.

Should this really be filed in the Non-fiction folder? Perhaps I am wrong, but a situation with a clone seems like fiction to me.
