I'm really excited that The Mortal Instrument is being made into a movie. I can't wait to see it!

Me too, Erica! I'm so excited to see how it turns out.
I think it has to be The Internal Devices series for me! I did enjoy the Moral Instruments but the suggested incest element made me a little unconfortable so she should have left it at City of Glass - the last two just don't grip me as much. Saying that I do love Jace and ClaryHowever, I am absolutely dying to read Clockwork Princess! 2013 can't come fast enough for me! I love all the characters, it's much better written, there's much more intrigue (e.g. what is Tessa?), much more angst (I'm still undecides which team I'm on - Will or Jem? they both amazing!). Eeek can't wait! :)
,
well, i said that Infernal Devices now, but just because i feel that TMI in the last two books, are forcing the story line. It´s like when a shoow it´s succesful and they want to force the story for make another season. I love the characters that Cassandra make and i think that she its a great writer.I cant wait to read Clockwork Princess!
It's hard to choose, but I'd have to say The Mortal Instruments (the first trilogy - I thought stretching it out to 6 books was a bit much, although I may be proven wrong when we finally get the last book!)Love The Infernal Devices too, however, and the manga adaptation is stunning. :)
I would suggest starting with TMI because it explains shadow hunters and downworlders better but I preferred TID
I prefer the Infernal Devices. :)TMI was really good, but TID is epic and all kinds of awesome. Plus, the characters just rule. (Will<3, Jem<3)
The Infernal Devices is my favorite series of the two but I would start with The Mortal Instruments it is a better intro into the series and it's world.
Hi everyone! :) I've read the first three TMI books and I liked them okay, but not as big a fan as some are. I'm thinking of giving CA a chance and see how I like it, but not sure yet. I read one steampunk (Something Strange and Deadly) and loved it, so maybe I'll like this? And do you all think I might like the later TMI books a little better too? Help! Lol.
Infernal Devices was so wonderful it's why I read the Mortal Instruments series also. Couldn't put either one down but I believe that I do prefer the first for its setting and I just really LOVE Will :)
I love both series. I think MI really rocks with Jace & Clary. Magnus Bane is great, as is Camille. BUT -- I really LOVE the steampunk universe of ID, Tessa's unusual characteristics (just what is she?), and Will's character. The structures of the novels are amazing. Lots of action, great pacing.
I fell in love with The mortal Instruments first, but The Infernal Devices has stolen my heart. I think this is because I like Will better then Jace and Tessa better then Clary and there is suspense which is always a plus :)

I have fallen in love with the first 3 books of TMI first, I tried reading the 4th one but I quit. Then CC wrote about this steampunk story with a gorgeous setting, stronger characters, and the most painful and beautiful love triangle, calling it a love triangle doesnt even feel right. TID FTW.
Mortal Instruments...good TRILOGY, I don't like that the author keeps writing past the third book. It should have ended there.
I loved Mortal Instruments and had no interest in Infernal Devices until I opened Clockwork Angel. I only just started book two but I prefer them. The characters and story is stronger. I would say read TMI first though
mortal instruments, I don't know if it's just because I read it first but the infernal devices just feels too similar to tmi for it to be as good. Im looking forward to the tmi film though!
I actually love both of them equally. They are both amazing. I love Jace and Clary; Will, Tessa and Jem.
honestly both are amazing but for different reasons. Both have lovable characters and will keep you hooked
I read CoB but never got onto reading the rest of TMI. I took a chance with TID and completely fell in love with the series. It's one of my favourites.I'll have to try TMI again now that a movie is coming out though.

The ending was the only good bit about it.
See that's how I felt...the second half of the book was wayyy better than the first half and then the last few chapters pulled it back up to the standard I was...well, expecting for the whole book to be honest :/
I gave it three...which is a shame as the rest of the series I gave 4/5 too... it just didn't live up to the rest of the books and in a final installment that sucks! One thing that did REALLY annoy me though, that I haven't heard anyone else mention is (view spoiler)
Sorry for the mess of words.
Well the book I'm reading now is so...boring. I'm genuinely struggling. It's going to be one of those books that you finish and that's that :( I need a really good book! Anyway, sorry for the rants!
