Rayna | 1785 comments Well i dont know about you but there are a few books i MUST read every year!

The first few are to bring out my inner Diva....

Shadowfever (Fever, #5) by Karen Marie Moning The last book in the series and when i say i HAVE to read this book every year....the first 4 are a must too! This has to be one of my all time favorite series not only for the story and well Jericho, it takes place in Ireland and thats a place i will visit very very soon! Oh and Scotland of course! lol

Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #7) by J.R. Ward RJ and i have had numerous debates on Rhev....but i MUST read this book annually but not the whole series as it were! There's something about those bad boy vampires that get me!

I must always listen to this series on audio while i commute....brings me to another favorite country i will visit soon! Historical Highland Scotland!! Gabaldon what have you done to me!!! lol
Outlander (Outlander, #1) by Diana Gabaldon Dragonfly In Amber (Outlander, #2) by Diana Gabaldon Voyager (Outlander, #3) by Diana Gabaldon Drums Of Autumn (Outlander, #4) by Diana Gabaldon The Fiery Cross (Outlander, #5) by Diana Gabaldon A Breath of Snow and Ashes (Outlander, #6) by Diana Gabaldon An Echo in the Bone (Outlander, #7) by Diana Gabaldon Written In My Own Heart's Blood (Outlander, #8) by Diana Gabaldon

And on the darker side....
'Salem's Lot by Stephen King this one keeps vamps in perspective for me and i think until recently, ive always perceived them to be evil and terrifying! But Twilight...yes those sparkly ones have expanded my views on good versus evil vampires! lol

Oh frig....i totally forgot

First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost we will put this one up top with the romanticized vamps! It came out a couple years ago and ive read it about 4 times!

Rayna | 1785 comments see i knew i couldnt do it in one post!

Dracula by Bram Stoker well this one is a no brainer! i have to read it and watch the movie at least once!!!

message 3: by Rjsmommy (new)

Rjsmommy I know I'm going to catch quite a bit from poeple here for this answer but I'm starting off with the Twilight Saga... Twilight (Twilight, #1) by Stephenie Meyer . I love it. I've read each one about 5 times except for Breaking Dawn...I've only read it twice.

Next up....Dark Hunters; specifically Night Pleasures (Dark-Hunter, #1) by Sherrilyn Kenyon ; I can't get enough of Kyrian.

Black Dagger Brotherhood... Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #5) by J.R. Ward ,,,again my obsession with Vishous (sorry Rayna...Rhev just doesn't do it for me).

Some non-vamp books...

To Kill a Mockingbird...this is a classic and is currently celebrating its 50th anniversary. This is timeless and will never become outdated.
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

The Book Thief...a Holocaust tale told through the memories of the narrator...Death. Such imagery and plot...and humor...so touching. A must-read!
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Rayna | 1785 comments Rj....ive read the Twilight series book 1-4....4 times each. Eventhough there are things that i truly dislike about that series....i just cant get over the relationship and circumstances of those two!

Plus i have to thank Meyer and that series for one thing in particular! That series got me reading again, and back into the paranormal realm! So you wont get flack from me....lol Dan on the other hand is another story but i do believe we are in the same boat.....for one exception, it doesnt make my annual to read again list....lol

No. Even though I may not like it, I would never put someone down for it. We all have different tastes and opinions. I think Rj knows that already anyway. LOL.

Let's see...books you must read every year. They don't all have to be vampire books, right?

Well, I have to agree with Rayna about Dracula.I've read that book five times so far. I think if you really love that book, then you need to get a copy of this..
The New Annotated Dracula by Leslie S. Klinger
It's "The New Annotated Dracula". It's Bram Stoker's original novel only annotated By leslie S. Klinger. It contains over 1500 notes on information about the book, Hundreds of illustrations including artwork, photographs, and movie posters, an introduction to the book by Niel Gaiman, and even an alternate ending!

Around Halloween, I always try to read these..
Complete Stories and Poems by Edgar Allan Poe The Best of H.P. Lovecraft Bloodcurdling Tales of Horror and the Macabre by H.P. Lovecraft
Although Edgar Allan Poe can be read at any time of the year.

And, I have not read this yet, but next December I am making this book a tradition around Christmas. A Christmas Story,my favorite Christmas movie, was based off of this book..
In God We Trust All Others Pay Cash by Jean Shepherd

Danny Boy! I love Edgar Allen Poe! I totally agree, you should read him throughout the year! Which is your favorite from him?

I agree with you and Tiff, RJ. There are so many books to devour and so little time to re-read. That and I have to write on a daily basis, so re-reading always is bumped:(

Oh you like him too...cool. Well, Angela...it sounds kind of cliche, but my favorite Poe story is The Tell Tale Heart.

message 14: by Angela (new)

Angela McPherson | 180 comments I love Annabell Lee, is that how he spells her name? Shame on me for not knowing. There are so many but that one is my favorite. As a matter of fact, I used that poem in one of my manuscripts:)

Dan (dan2345) | 649 comments Mod
LOL...I just went and grabbed my Edgar Allan Poe Book from my room and have it right here with me. LOL. It's spelled..Annabel Lee...but you almost got it right.

message 30: by Angela (new)

Angela McPherson | 180 comments Oh Yes Dan! I loved it. Of course there is the love story- way better than even, dare I say, Twilight. Action upon action, tears and joy are woven in Meads masterpiece. You may enjoy it:)

Fall of the House of Usher was actually the first Poe story I read, the first time I picked up an E.A. Poe book. It's quite good.
