3.BLESSED UNREST [n/fic]
4.HOUSE LUST [n/fic]
5.EAT THIS,NOT THAT! [n/fic]
6.AMERICA I AM: PASS IT DOWN COOKBOOK [n/fic]
More will be added soon......

Is this a world record bid by a GR member...should I contact the Guiness Book of Records for you! :)

Hi Gloria,
House Lust looks interesting, and there are parallels in the UK too. I've added it to my TBR...Doh!

Christine PNW (moonlight_reader) I am also going to sign up for Mt. Vancouver. I have TBR books on my kindle that go all the way back to 2009, when I bought the thing. Last time I checked, my TBR pile was up to in the neighborhood of 400 books, with probably another 100 DTB's in my bookshelves at home.

Welcome Christine & Gloria! What's a DTB?

Dead Tree Book. Aka print book, or non-electronic-book. I have a kindle & hoard books like crazy on it.

Anyone with book hoarding tendencies is dangerous with an e-reader in her hands.

As soon as I saw it, the light went on! The Kindle is a dangerous thing, especially with the free and 99 cent books. But, I just got my Kindle for Christmas, so I've only put one Kindle book on my list. And, I'm double-dipping, because I'm reading it for a group discussion in March. :)

Geevee, my man, if we make it through March I would definitely say it's a world record. Even if we only make through February that should be some kind of prize right?

Are you the only fella here? Ron might get jealous you having all these ladies to yourself.

Jeannette, again you came to my rescue. I didn't know what DTB meant either and had the bright light bulb moment when I saw Christine's response. I should have known that one since Misfit uses it so frequently.

She does, but I didn't connect the acronym this time.

Tell Ron that GeeVee is "officially" one of the ladies now! He was promoted earlier today by Marialyce. ;D

LoL...can't see me being the only bloke but hey ho and I'm happy to be part of an esteemed gathering of bibliophiles; just seems rather than reducing my TBR its making it bigger :)

message 62: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments I don't think I've used that one. I had to google it to find out what it was :p

message 63: by [deleted user] (new)

Someone of our bunch says "dead tree books" on a regular basis, but I don't recall seeing DTB, especially in caps. Now I'll be keeping an eye out for who shelves books that way! :)

Scanning through the member list, you are not the only bloke in the group, but you do seem to be the only one willing to jump into the "fray" and chat with us ladies. :)

And we don't bite, much.

Misfit | 198 comments Someone has to be the token male after all :D

message 68: by Geevee (new)

Geevee Happy being a token - after all book tokens are (were) appreciated :D

message 69: by [deleted user] (new)

hahaha! I love it that you're such a good sport, Geevee.

message 70: by Misfit (new)

Misfit | 198 comments BTW, I'm glad no one spotted the post before my typo was corrected. I had taken instead of token. Heee.

message 71: by [deleted user] (new)

That's a goodie, Misfit!

Dawn (& Ron) (furryreaders) | 456 comments Ron said he will be back after the PGA tournament is done, AKA hell month, to put in his 2 cents. So Geevee won't be totally alone on the boards here.

Good news; although to be fair I've been treated very well by the ladies and am enjoying my place on the team :)

message 74: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, Geevee. Spoken like a true gentleman!

message 75: by Sylvia (new)

Sylvia (sylviahartstra) I'm going for Mt. Vancouver because I have already read some 10 of my old unread books in 2012 for another challenge. I will bring in these books on my Mt.Vancouver list as read. I think I can make it to read 25 from my pile of unread owned books. I'm still buying new ones (addicted), but I'm also checking if my library has a specific title.
It's great fun to realize that I'm definitely not the only one, who's buying books and not having enough time to read them all at once.
