RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm not going to lie to you. I'm not entirely sure what the secretary of state does.

I was adamant that Obama was the better democratic candidate than Hilary, but I respect her guts and her political expertise, so if Obama is gathering a Justice League for his White House staff, she seems like a good fit.

Comments?

Amanda (randymandy) I dunno, dude. I love me some Hillary, but Secretary of State? I don't think it's a good idea. Ugh, whatev.

Félix (habitseven) This will be a critical time for this position. There are many relationships with countries around the world that are in need of mending after the current White House occupant's term. I believe she will be the one to do this.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Why not, Mandy? It surprises me that you think that.

message 5: by Lori (new)

Lori I'm unsure of this myself. I'd much prefer someone like Richardson, who has alot of foreign policy experience. I just don't know if Hillary will create too much tension in the Obama Cabinet. And to be truthful, I'd prefer to see her in health, to get the reforms going.

Secretary of State all the way, hatahs!!!

Go, Hills! Go, Hills!
It's yer birfday! Wear yer pantsuit!
Go, Hills! Go, Hills!
Go, go, go, go, go...!

message 7: by Cyril (new)

Cyril I don't mind Hillary, it's Bill who's the problem child.

Amanda (randymandy) re: 4

Hillary has a knack for rubbing people the wrong way for no good reason and through no fault of her own. During the primaries, I couldn't count how many people said things like, "There's just something about her that I don't like. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I just don't like her." And the people saying this were liberals.

Like I said before, I love me some Hillary. I just wonder exactly how much she'll be able to accomplish in that position. I hope she does great!

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I don't think she and Barack have any bad blood. Not really.

Books Ring Mah Bell Hilary as sec of state make me not happy waffle.

is is no good.

Hillary rubs a lot of Americans the wrong way. Mainly because she's a calculating female politician -- although we've had calculating men in politics since politics began. Yes, probably more Americans are comfortable with the beauty pageant, moose-hunting ditz version of female politician.

I think the Clintons are still very popular in many other countries, however. (Especially when you grade on the curve after the Bush administration.)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I'm more comfortable with Clinton than the moose hunter. However, Palin has been going out of her way lately to appear sane. I'm a bit worried it'll work.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/1...

And I SO would have hit on her in college...Clinton, I mean...

message 14: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I'd hope that the moose hunter is a non-entity at this point. (Please don't make me read that article, Anthony. Please!)

What year to you think that Hillary pic was taken?

message 15: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments Those pants are screaming late '60s!

(If you click on the picture it'll take you to Kirk's photobucket page and you can see all his funny pics! Which totally reminds me, I gotta see that Palin porn!)

(Ain't no way I'm reading that article.)

message 16: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) And the shoes scream late 90s (which is when the 60s were back in style...)

Books Ring Mah Bell She (Palin)damn well better pray for Obama after she let all those folks scream "terrorist" and "kill him" at her rallies.

TWAT.

message 18: by Kirk (new)

Kirk | 154 comments There's something very hypnotic about the inseam design of those pants. Like they're trying to hypnotize us back to the motherwomb.

message 19: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments Twat!

That's one of my favorite words, Bells. I mean, Sarah.

Oh, Kork. How I love you.

I agree with David re: message whatevs up there. The Clintons have good juju with the peeps abroad. I see good things with this appointment.

message 21: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments Hillary was especially involved with international women's issues when she was 1st Lady (does that get capitalized?). I like that.

message 22: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) Good. Very very good.

Amanda (randymandy) Hi!!!!!!!!

message 25: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I'm sleepy, but I can't stop reading posts. It's a sickness.

I know, I know. You always seem to appear right before I go to sleep, too. Then I think "I'll just loll around a wee bit more, see what Mander is up to"

message 27: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I'm prepared to make a sleep pact with you RIGHT NOW!

No, it'll never work. Because first I gotta go put the leftovers away and I don't wanna. And then I gotta go make sure the cats are separated for nighttime so they don't fight. And then I'll want to read some of my book (which I thought would only take me a day to read, but I'm at the end of day two already and I betcha I have another day to go).

You should just move in to my house with me. I have a room available. You can bring your husband if you want!

message 28: by Amanda (new)

Amanda (randymandy) I shall really and truly turn off the computer now.

THWAAAAAACK until tomorrow!

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
I love it. I'd totally move into your second room. I wonder if our magnet powers would be magnified due to the proximity, or if it would be nullified. I wish I had a book that I was nearly finished with and wanted to read. I'm tired of theory, theory, theory, with a side of pedagogy.

message 30: by Meen (new)

Meen (meendee) | 1733 comments I could do theory, theory, theory all day long, but damn the pedagogy would kill me. (Except Paulo Freire.)

:)
