Matt Carl (pressenter) I liked it, Paula. It was certain,y a dark book. Definitely not a happily ever after ending, but I thought it was was well written adn that the characters were interesting.

Paula | 227 comments Thanks Matt. I've heard such mixed reviews I wasn't sure I wanted to try it but sounds like I will now. : )

Matt Carl (pressenter) 3. Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis (400 pages on the nose).

Weird. Since the author is the main character, the book is largely like a faux memoir for the first bit, then moves into a supernatural haunting story. It was entertaining in a way, but I look back on it unsatisfied. The ending was depressing and dull.

Matt Carl (pressenter) 4. Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power (505 pages).

Matt Carl (pressenter) 5. The Silvered by Tanya Huff (454 pages)

I don't read a lot of fantasy, but I loved this one.

Matt Carl (pressenter) 6. Spillover by David Quammen (520 pages) - about zoonotic diseases (those which pass from animals to humans). Not very cheery, but fascinating.

And I'm thinking that may do it for the year. Looking forward to 2013!
