Shameless plug, but gotta throw mine in there. It is a comedy book, but the heart break, apathy and drugs... well make your own mind up. Reviews: http://jonnygibbings.wordpress.com/wh...This link has the first two chapters as a free-read: http://jonnygibbings.wordpress.com/bo...
Others - anything Irvine Welsh or Will Self. English Slacker by Chris Morten I loved too
Jonny speaks for me: Irving Welsh writes crackers. Never fails to shock and amuse simultaneously. I will have to check out that blog. It's a shame there are not more recommendations on here.My own work of autobiographical writing is also crying out for some review. I skip between Africa and the UK (born in the latter, bought up in the former). I would recommend it anyone who would like to know how an idiot (me) got by for several years with no transferable skills after arriving in the UK in 2009 right in the middle of that dreadfully dull recession period :) I think some of my contemporary observations may be of interest to social commentators...no. Ah well, worth a shot.
