Jules If you have read this book what did you think of it?

Lynda Well, it has been a while since I read this, but I thought it was well done. Well paced. Very poignant and believable. A book that lingers long afterward.

Mrs. Gale Hawthorne i hated it. the subject was horrible

Kennedy I read this book in 4th grade. It was the best book ever!!!

Kelly Rohan It was well written, but the "wringing" was a little much for me.

Lynda Well, I think it's really a book about what "being a real man" is. How the boy in the story is expected to "wring" the birds but he hates to do it--thinks it's cruel. I thought it was interesting.

Carlos Pedroso i think the book was interesting. it showed how when something is in the family it is hard to get out of it because your family rely on you doing it because its something that is passed down.
