Well, it has been a while since I read this, but I thought it was well done. Well paced. Very poignant and believable. A book that lingers long afterward.

It was well written, but the "wringing" was a little much for me.

Well, I think it's really a book about what "being a real man" is. How the boy in the story is expected to "wring" the birds but he hates to do it--thinks it's cruel. I thought it was interesting.

i think the book was interesting. it showed how when something is in the family it is hard to get out of it because your family rely on you doing it because its something that is passed down.
