Katie (garnetofeden) | 22 comments I think I remember reading this somewhere before, but it's been awhile. When a series has more than one author, does the series only show up under the first author's "Series by" section?

In this case I'm looking at the Stuart Quartet written by Jane Yolen and Robert J. Harris. It shows up under Jane Yolen's series, but not Robert J. Harris's.

Katie (garnetofeden) | 22 comments As a side-note, each author uses a different name for the series. Jane Yolen calls it the Stuart Quartet on her website while Robert J. Harris calls it the Scottish Quartet on his. It's referred to as the latter on one of the book jackets too. Which one should be used?

Yes, currently.

As for the series name, does the publisher give it a name? Could work as a tie-breaker.

Katie (garnetofeden) | 22 comments Well, the publisher as far as I can tell doesn't list the series name (although it's possible I just don't know how their website works). However, everywhere else that I've seen the series it's called the Stuart Quartet, for whatever that's worth.

Are you saying that both series names are unofficial?

Your link is to Robert J. Harris's website, although now that I look at it closer it says in the text on that page that by the time they got to the later books they viewed it as the Stewart quartet, with a different spelling of Stuart. But if you look at Jane Yolen's website it's listed as Stuart Quartet: http://janeyolen.com/works/stuart-qua...

So maybe according to the authors the series name changed partway through? However, I am not sure if what you said means that both series names are unofficial. I would be inclined to leave it as Stuart Quartet (with maybe a note about the name change?) because that's how most book sellers advertise it so I would imagine that's how most people will search for it, but I don't know if that's okay if both names are unofficial.

No, sorry, left out a couple words by mistake. I was trying to say that "Stuart Quartet is unofficial and Scottish Quartet is official". Anyway, I think your solution makes sense.
