Matthew Blake We read it in 8th grade. I loved it so much I read way ahead of the class and was finished two weeks before we were supposed to be done.

Carolyn I read this book over 20 times(the early 80's), I was obsessed with it, and then when the movie came out <3, Loved it, I've seen that many times also.
I've also read the other books, Rumblefish, That was Then This is Now, and Tex. Good Movies also.

Saneseeker CSE English 1983. First book on the syllabus followed by 'A Kind of Loving' by Stan Barstow.

sam. Yes! We read it and watched the movie my freshmen year of high school. It was one of the only books I was forced to read and actually enjoyed.

Emilie Yep we did too in 8th grage. We also watched the movie and that the first time I noticed that movie's made from books sucks in comparison.

Acutally this movie forgot alot of parts but they made a special edition of the movie which has every part in the book plus special delete scenes

Katherine I love this book!! My class read it in 7th grade. It was the first book of the year.


Kersten Mason I had to read this for 7th grade. We read it in the begining of the year after We Beat The Streets. I would have liked it better if I didn't feel so rushed.

Jeff French I'm a teacher. We read this every year in Grade 8. The students love it. There's a director's cut of the movie. Even though it just adds some extra scenes, it improves on the original quite a bit.
