ISBN 9780615148755 points to this record on WorldCat:

http://www.worldcat.org/search?q=9780...

which is a collection of the trilogy that belongs with this Kindle edition:

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10...

BUT ISBN 9780615148755 points to this record on goodreads

http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/32...

which appears to be the third book in the trilogy. So, any advice on how to untangle this. I created the entry to save the Kindle edition, but don't know what to do to fix all of them, without screwing things up.

Violetta | 477 comments It appears that the WorldCat listing just took the three ISBN-10s and ISBN-13s and put them into one listing for the trilogy, since evidently the trilogy hasn't been published as one volume yet (besides as a Kindle edition).

I would probably add a Librarian's note to this edition about it.

In the meantime, I created a series for them. http://www.goodreads.com/series/73969...

Thank you, Violetta. This was a bit beyond me. I'll see what you created, and add a note to the Kindle edition. I think I will also switch the language on the Kindle edition from Hungarian to English.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Worldcat sometimes has a single listing for all the books in a series. It is treated as a "series object" rather than individual "books". All the ISBNs for all the books in the series are listed for that "series object" as Violetta noted for this entry.

It happens suprisingly often for Graphic Novels, like the one below:

http://www.worldcat.org/title/star-wa...

If you look towards the bottom of the record, the "Contents" lists each volume. This particular case, which I spent alot of time sorting for my son, was a nightmare because each volume had different authors which aren't listed in the Worldcat entry. :S

True story :/ Thanks for your input!

I see -- I think! ;)

It makes it a bit tricky to verify the individual books that way.

Should I just merge the record I created with the Kindle edition? They now point to the same "version".

Yeah, probably, since it appears that the Kindle book is the only omnibus version.

No kidding. I was only able to do it with my example above (msg 4) because I had the books in front of me.

Speaking of which, I think it's time to start scanning some of my own book covers. A couple dozen have reappeared over the past few days, luckily!
