JAnet hmm I would say LOVE...after first seeing him in Robin Hood I was hooked

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Last weekend I watched the North and South ... Loved the last 5

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1w3wi...

he is in MI 5 as well. Will have to check out Robin Hood

message 204: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet also in Monet

Jessica Because of this thread I went home and watched North and South yesterday. Haha ::insert cheesy grin:: Thank God for Netflix!

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Jessica I just converted myself ..

Jessica Donna wrote: "Jessica I just converted myself .."

I love it. I originally got it because I work nights so I figured while I was not in school I could watch it on my tablet. But now I am addicted and not sure how I ever survived without it. I also have Hulu+ which I like. But I don't use as much. Although I did get to get caught up on Grimm and Once Upon a Time (bc I missed the boat on both of those)

message 208: by Kari (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kari Gritzan I'm not all that worried about the casting of Matthew...there's lots of actors who would be great. But who could be Diana? Just not that girl from Twilight. Please! I'm begging you.

message 209: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet Totally in agreement with you...the casting of Diana could be problematic.....will give more thought to that but don't want to see anyone but an American (only because she IS an American).I'll get back to you on this one. Help please?

message 210: by Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook (last edited Jul 15, 2012 11:38AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Diana is 33 and blonde ... I really like Cate Blanchett but she might be too old and the other would be Kate Winslet. And she doesn't have to be American .. she does have to be good.

message 211: by Anne (new) - rated it 4 stars

Anne Stockwell Somebody suggested Claire Danes for Diana (on another discussion I think), and I thought she would be perfect. I think she's about the right age, too. I do think Kate Winslet would be good too.

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Yes Claire Danes has been mentioned .. I have never seen anything she has been in.

message 213: by Nikki (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nikki Of the actors all of you mentioned I would agree with Matt Bomer, Richard Armitage, or Henry Cavill. Remember, Matthew is eternally 36. Many of the actors you all are talking about are much older.

message 214: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet #1 for me is Armitage #2 Cavill

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Richard all the way ... Check him out in the BBC Robin Hood

message 216: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet @Donna..are you serious? I have checked him out in everything he has been in...Mi-5, Monet,North and South and just got some Shakespeare DVD from Netflix that he is in..LOVE him

Donna - Rosies.ReadingNook Saw North and South, start mi5 . I will keep the others in mind but I can only watch so much at a time .. You know overload .... Plus I need to read SoN before Thurs ... I see Deborah Harkness .. Whohoo

message 218: by Jessi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jessi Szigethy You have to watch Robin Hood. He is so very Matthew in it. Lots of subtle looks.

Richard is amazing.

message 219: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet My two favorite shows? MI 5 and Prison Break....MI5 only won because of the British accents...

message 220: by Jessi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jessi Szigethy That's a bit too stressful for me at the moment. Maybe after Robin Hood. I do have it on my watch list on Amazon.

message 221: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet There has been a lot of talk about the male lead..we need to work on female....I would like to see an American in the American role but I'm not coming up with anyone..sorry , no Claire Danes for me..I really like Keely Hawes if she can do a good American accent....there is an American female actor I like but I can't remember her name..will get back to all of you on it...she may be too young

message 222: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet finally got female lead but not sure if she is to young...Ellen Page (Juno)I thought she would have been perfect in The Hunger Games..I soo pictured her when I was reading the book but she wasn't Hollywood's pick..what do I know? I thought Sandra Bullock was a shoe in for the Janet Evanovich books and they cast the girl from Grey's Anatomy! You've got to be kidding me!!!!

message 223: by Jessi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jessi Szigethy I think Diana looks like Kate Hudson. But she doesn't have the gravitas that would be necessary to play Diana.

message 224: by Nic (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nic Oh I like the idea of Henry cavill he's still attractive without looking to young

message 225: by Jan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jan The man who played Christ is "sleazy"? Just sayin'.

jackie frye Kari wrote: "I'm not all that worried about the casting of Matthew...there's lots of actors who would be great. But who could be Diana? Just not that girl from Twilight. Please! I'm begging you."

Kari, you must like that girl from Twilight as much as I do - not at all!

message 227: by Linda (new) - rated it 5 stars

Linda Gille Marini from brothers and sisters. He played the part of Luc--Sarah's French boyfriend.

Jessica All this speculation really makes me want to movie to come out tomorrow! Soooo not fair that it is still just an idea. :(

message 229: by Jaime (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jaime Alex O'Loughlin

Her name is Kristen Stewart and she is too young to play Diana remember Diana is 33 and Kristen in maybe 22. Diana has blonde hair Kristen does not.

message 231: by Nic (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nic Joe manganiello?

message 232: by Tiger (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tiger Jessi wrote: "I think Diana looks like Kate Hudson. But she doesn't have the gravitas that would be necessary to play Diana."

I agree that Kate Hudson doesn't have the gravitas. Perfect description. Speaking of Kates, what about Kate Winslet?

Tiger Lynne wrote: "I was expecting the book in the mail in a couple days. I instead, this morning, I got an e-mail from Barnes Noble saying that my pre-order for the book has been delayed.

OH NO! I'm so sorry for you. Mine came, and I'm enjoying it now (though disappointed at how much Life gets in the way)

message 234: by Tiger (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tiger Donna wrote: "Yes Claire Danes has been mentioned .. I have never seen anything she has been in."

Stardust, the movie adaptation of Neil Gaimon's book. LOVE Neil Gaimon, and that movie is SO fun. I loved Claire Danes in it, too. BUT I don't see her as Diana. (You will absolutely love Robert deNiro in Stardust -- definitely get your hands on it)

message 235: by Lissa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lissa I like Jim Caviezel and Alex O'loughlin. What about Alan Rickman? As Gruber in Die Hard, he fit a great description of Matthew and I think he's still pretty hot! Or Jason Isaacs, Jeremy Irons, or Liam Neeson? Sticking with the british actors. They've all played dark mysterious characters. Gary Oldman is another good pick or even better! Gerard Butler!

message 236: by Tiger (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tiger Gerard Butler's too Scottish. But he could be either Gallowglass or Hancock from the second book. I LOVE Alan Rickman, but I think he's too old for the role now, especially if there will need to be two more movies. ditto for Liam Neeson and Jeremy Irons. I'm not personally a fan of Gary Oldman; I think he tends to over-act.
I'm still all about Richard Armitage. I think he's Matthew incarnate.

message 237: by Tiger (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tiger Intensity is what Gerard Butler lacks, and what Jeremy Irons, Liam Neeson and Alan Rickman all have. And Richard Armitage has in abundance :) Don't get me wrong; I love Gerard Butler, but he's a puppy-dog love.

message 238: by Nic (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nic Gerard butler would def make a good Gallowglass from the second book, and as for Diana what about someone like Malin Ackerman?

message 239: by Lisa (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lisa I also strongly recommend Jim Caviezel. As I read the books, he is exactly what I imagine Matthew to be like. I kept seeing Matthew as a cross between Caviezel's roles in The Count of Monte Cristo and Person of Interest. I think he could handle both the modern and medieval aspects of Matthew having seen him in Outlander.

message 240: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet Just watched a BBC show, Vera and I LOVE David Leon....if Richard Armitage is not available, and he might just be TOO gorgeous ..I LOVE this guy

allshookdown While reading the books, I always pictured Joe Manganiello as Matthew. He's beautiful, tall and imposing, and I could see him being fiercely protective. Plus, it would be understandable why someone who was taught not to associate with vampires would be unable to resist. Joe is gorgeous.

message 242: by Jane (new)

Jane Kris wrote: "How about Christian Bale?"

He will be perfect. Clive Owen might be good too but not as tall and storng as Christian Bale.

message 243: by Jane (new)

Jane And I think Gwyneth Paltorw will be perfect as Diana Bishop.

message 244: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet I like the idea of Gwyneth but it would have to be a BIG budget movie to get her....

message 245: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet heh..maybe her mom could play one of the witches! I would LOVE that.

message 246: by Larap (new) - rated it 5 stars

Larap I adore Matt Bomer, and I'd love to see him all broody and hot as Matthew...but I get the Fassbender connection too. This is a tough one. For now I'll say Matt Bomer. For now.

message 247: by Moira (new) - rated it 5 stars

Moira Don't know if anyone has suggested him yet, but when i was reading them i always imagined him to look like Patrick Dempsey.

message 248: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet Just watched another episode of VERA ( I love British TV) and I am really liking David Leon...check him out!But only if Armitage is not available..remember he has to be into yoga and I'm picturing Leon more then Armitage but I could be sooo wrong..maybe Richard would like to do a yoga class with me and then I can decide..oh and I will do a class with Leon too..just to see who is the better yogi!

message 249: by JAnet (new) - rated it 5 stars

JAnet I am seeing Matthew as a European...as much as I love Patrick Dempsey (New England boy as I am a New England girl) i can't picture him in this movie

message 250: by Nic (new) - rated it 5 stars

Nic Gwyneth would be great for it but not to old do u think?
