Wizard and Glass
question
What is your favorite book of the series?

It's hard to choose one, because each book has awesome elements that make the saga of Roland and the Dark Tower grow.
I love bits and pieces of all the books, but the one that kept me the most engaged was "The Wastelands"
What are your thoughts?

Wastelands by far. They will always stuck on that train for me.
The Gunslinger was the tale that hooked me, would have to claim it as the best of the batch.
Wastelands is the easy pick for me. Between the portal guardian, the city of Lud, and Blaine's cradle... so many memorable visions this book instilled into me.
Going to have to say the Drawing of Three because I still remember it years later.
Favourite books: Wizards and Glass, Wastelands, Wolves of the Calla and drawing of the Three.
The last book, didn't seem to really go anywhere, I loved the ways all characters were killed off one by one :-)

I would have to say The Drawing of the Three was the book that clinched it for me. I might have stopped reading the series, had it not been for that volume. Great series. I would be interested to see Hollywood get their hands on this series and see what they could do movie wise.
"Wizard and Glass" was my favorite of the seven. I liked the background story on Roland. Almost every other book had a section that just kept dragging on. I had to listen to a few on audiobook just to get past them to the end of the series.
I just finished the series five minutes ago so it's fresh in my mind.
I think my favorite two books of this amazing series are Wastelands and The Dark Tower, because there was so much to each of these. However I enjoyed all the books, probably in this order -
1- Wastlands/Dark Tower
2- Wolves of the Calla
3- Wizard and Glass
4- The Drawing of Three
5- Song of Susannah
6- The Gunslinger

So far I have only read the first four, and have enjoyed all of them. If I was going to pick one out of these four it would be number three, the dark tower. I really loved seeing the whole group finally meet and start their adventure together.
So, I have 120 pages left of book VII, but I already know it has no chance to steal the first or second place if I were to make a list.
Not counting book VII then, my list would look like this:
1. The Waste Lands
2. The Drawing of the Three
3. The Gunslinger
4. Wolves of the Calla
5. Song of Susannah
6. Wizard and Glass
Now, I don't mind the story in the last book (Wizard and Glass), not one bit. But to devote such a long book almost entirely to it I didn't like. If it had been short as Song of Susannah, or if the story had been spread out through a couple of the books as something Roland tells at the campfires, I would have liked it just fine. But in that thick volume... I was just slightly bored most of the time and it's the book in the series that took the longest to read. I realise many (perhaps even most) people don't agree with me, but that's fine too.
Now, if I were to guess about the last book it might end up at #4. I find it fairly uneven and it would have been better had they edited it more.

My favorite book was the first one. I liked the limbo that they were in. It was the first Steven King book I read, and unlike anything I had read previous to that. Wizard and Glass was definitely the WORST book of the series. Nothing like wasting 400 pages to say Roland me Susan and she died.
It's a toss-up between Drawing of Three and Wolves of the Calla.
Mine was definitely Drawing of the Three. I thought that book was absolutely amazing. I loved when he first opens the door to Eddie's mind....That totally blew me away. I loved the whole story. Roland almost dying, his loss of his two fingers...Eddie constantly fighting his addiction but his almost immediate dedication to Roland...It was just awesome! I loved the Wastelands too!! For me out of all of them-even including his most recent addition of Wind Through the Keyhole(which I LOVED) Song of Susannah was my least favorite. But Susannah was my least favorite character so that is probably why....
