Oh, I loved this one too. Billie Letts is a great author. Who knew such a thing could happen in a Walmart??
I just bought this book to try something different and now can't put stop reading it. I am so glad I saw it here on Good Reads. Barbara
I am two thirds through this book and finding it a lovely read. I read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn about a month ago and am experiencing very similar emotions with Where the Heart Is. Both books have a main character who is down on her luck but remains ambitious and positive all the same. The importance of community is also a central theme in both books, though in ATGB people were less inclined to interfere (set decades earlier). I can see why this is a favourite of Oprah's.
I haven't been able to get my hands on a copy this month, but will definately read it soon.Sounds pretty good.
It's great. You won't put it down. If I still had my copy, I would send it your way.
Angie wrote: "I'm finished and I loved it! Such a beautiful story."Still reading, but love the simplisity of it, an easy read, something I can fit into my busy schedule. What else has this author published?

Here's the link for this book on Oprah's website. It has a reading guide, the author's favorite books, and an author bio.
