I have recently been approved as a Goodreads librarian so I must keep an eye on this thread so I can learn more. What often annoys me is when some books on Goodreads seen to have been listed under the author's first name when viewed in A-Z order, rather than surname. Is this something that librarians can correct?

Yes we are able to correct author's names - always should be christian name then surname :)

So, if a book is showing on an A-Z listing under the first name rather than the surname, does that mean it has probably been entered incorrectly as surname first?

I'm not sure Kim - I'd need to see the A-Z list you're referring to. Probably click on the book link is best, that way you can check if it's entered correctly. Often it's just the book that needs correcting. If an author is a "goodreads author" you can't do anything with their profile. Then you go to the librarian group and a super librarian will take over. You have to be "delicate" about it a lot of the time.

Is there a way to have what books your friends are reading come up in the newsfeed but not their reviews? I find so many people who spoil an entire book by writing too much about it or, something like "There was a twist at the end!" Which no one wants to know until they find out themselves. So I only read reviews of books after I read them.

In the last 2-3 years it's all changed - it was much better before the change at following your friends and seeing what they were reading. Pretty well impossible now but no amount of complaints saw them change it back unfortunately.

Hi Brenda, it's only on iTunes.. it doesn't have an ISBN at all and it is self published. Do these types of books still get added onto GR?

I recently reported a hacked account. I went to Help, then Contact Us and sent them a message with the information. Goodreads got back to me the next day and sorted it out.

Generally no Suzanne. You can go to the Librarian group and make the request though. Best if they make the decision on that one :)

Goodreads seems to have attributed Boxed to a different Richard Anderson.

I checked on a previous Stella winner and they used this format;
