OK at the moment I can't Michael! Another issue with the ongoing outage saga! So I'll try to remember to check tomorrow, but as it's Sunday in the US tomorrow I'll probably need to check it Tuesday. Whichever, I'll let you know when it's done:)

Bette, I had a look at the photo and there isn't anywhere for me to resize it at all. If you can't do it yourself (re message in chat thread) let me know and I'll take it across to my computer and work on it for you....

Currently reading Blue Blood by Sara Blaedel but there seem to be 2 Sara Blaedels, one with the ae joined, one without, and Blue Blood is an alternate title for the 2nd one in the Louise Rick/Camilla Lind series, Call Me Princess. I have no idea how to fix this. And anyway, it's impossible to search for the Blaedel books by author with the ae joined using a non-Scandanavian keyboard, I'd think......

I did copy and paste but also when you are typing in a comment box like this one you can do a search for an author and it offers suggestions. So if I want to find Sara Blædel I only type Sara Bl and it finds the correct author

Well, I did that and they fixed it. But now if you search for "Sara Blaedel" in the main search field at the top of the page, you get nothing. And with an ordinary keyboard, I still can't figure out how you can search for Sara Blædel in that field. Searching for Sara Bl only gets Sara York. I asked but they can't get a search for "Sara Blaedel" to default to Sara Blædel, GR doesn't work that way. So there's every chance naive librarians like me might even add the book, thinking they were doing the right thing, because on my copy of Blue Blood her name doesn't have the joined ae.
Oh well, I tried!

Bette, I find this happens with reviews I put on BD which I compose on my PC in Word. The funny symbols are dashes or apostrophes or inverted commas which somehow don't translate when they are put into a website, really strange, I can't explain it. I just go back and edit them when I see it.... it probably won't be that hard to intuit what is meant to be there.

Well, you know, when this happens to reviews I add to BD, I go back and edit them, but when I first add the review, everything looks perfect. Then, after hours/days, if I take another look, it has all these weird symbols where apostrophes and dashes and quotation marks should be. So perhaps the person who added it thought all was well and had no reason to check back....

This John Patrick is a nom de plume for Michael Avellone. He writes mystery novels. This entry has books listed which belong to John Patrick (Goggan).
