Would one of our wonderful librarians please be able to combine these for me?

It is a collection of reflections written by 6 different men who are listed as the authors in some of those entries but in others the publisher is listed as the author.

All done! What a mess Kathryn! Please check to see if I missed anything. Two of the copies had all the authors listed as one, instead of separating them individually...

Looks good, Brenda! Yes, it was a bit messy - probably made all the worse by having more than one author. But I can't believe that 3 people missed that there was already an edition (or editions) in the system and created a new entry! Of course, when you type in "On This Holy Night" and search, you do get 8 pages of entries and I didn't check all of them myself, but all of these were on the first 2 or 3 pages!!

No problems - with the "combine" button I found there are different titles too, which made it more messy!

The combine feature can be pretty confusing when you have a lot of different subtle variations of the same book.

Good morning, librarians. I was in the process of adding a new edition of a Phryne Fisher, Murder in the Dark, because the edition I am about to start reading (e-book with the cover photo from the TV series and the ISBN listed in my ebook) is not there. However, when I type in the ISBN listed in the ebook, it is in the system as a paperback. And it is listed as a paperback on the Allen & Unwin site.

Do ebooks get the same ISBNs as paper copies? I guess in this case I'll either just use the paperback edition or the ebook that has the right photo but the wrong ISBN, but thought it seemed strange. Or is this normal?

You didn't give me the ISBN Kathryn? Is it the same as the link you have given, and is the cover pic the same as well?

No all ISBNs and ASINs are different...

Oh, I'm not sure about the edition I linked... I was just curious and didn't think you'd actually be able to do anything about it. But if you want to look into it, Brenda, the ISBN from my ebook is 9781742379678.

This one was already in the system when I searched for the ISBN Suzanne:) But, the cover image is different to what you linked!

I've never known this to happen before (you reading it as an ebook and it being published as a paperback) but this would be the only way around it I suspect. Plus you now have the exact copy to call your own:)

No problems Kathryn:) As I said...it's a first for me as I know every single book, be it ebook, audio, paperback or hardback all have different ISBN/ASINs. And even many for the same title with different editions as well...

If you click OK, the search page comes up with the title in the box and if you click search, then my book is number 8 in the list. Sorry - a bit more work than when I normally post something like this! I'm sure I've used a direct link to a book on the Brisbane City Council library website for book images before...
