I'm not really a newbie so I should know this, but I thought I saw a post at one time that said there was a "technical area" on goodreads that walks you through how to post various links, etc -- but I can't find it. Help?

Hello! There is a link above the comment box that says, "some html is ok" and will bring up a pop-up with formatting tips if you click on it.

Hope this helps! I would be happy to answer any other questions you could think up.
Thanks Dionisia- that type is SMALL ;0 but I was able to copy and paste so I will try and use this, and let you know if I have any more questions - really appreciate it -
here are the basic ones - just remove the ! from the code - you need to put the code at the beginning and end of what you want to bold, italize etcbold text: at the beginning and !b> at the end
italic text: ...!i>
underline text: ...!u>
strike text: ...!s>

How do I find a list of the "top shelves"? Please do NOT just give me a link ... walk me through how to navigate the goodreads site to find it.Thanks.
Are you asking how to find the Goodreads top shelves?
I would imagine that it would be found under the "Explore" tab at the top of the page... maybe under popular?
Not really sure about that.

I think they are called popular shelves now...- Go to the top of the screen, where it says explore and click on the down arrow (that will expand the list)
- Click on popular
- on the right of the screen, there should be a link, that says popular shelves - click on that
go up to the top to where it says recommendations and click on that and it should help youotherwise, start looking up books you have read/rate them - the more books you have rated, the more accurate your recommendations
I don't know about that - I think it automatically disappears after you have rated a certain number of books
Are you referring to the discussion tab on your goodreads home page? Or are you talking about the threads you can see when you are inside the group?
