Nuran I find I can't keep up with the story or characters either. Regina, Nix, Lothaire and Elle are the only characters who jump at me. The others are kind of a mess jumbled together.

Patricia Charles I agree with a lot of those who said this was one of the best of the series! I was excited to read his story and from beginning to end, I enjoyed every word.

I love Kresley's characters..they tend to be cheeky, naughty, serious, compassionate, evil...a bit of everything....Lothaire is her best example...he is so completely, utterly but adorably mad & bad!

I hope K.C will write another book similar to her Lothaire....

Grace I loved this book, loved Lothaire. This was the first IAD book that I read and I loved it. I already read all the IAD books but this is the best one. Besides the romantic story I really like the plot of Lothaire's kingdoms, the vengeance, the heirs to the Horde. It's a pretty good story without the "bride" theme, but of course, its even better with it.

Lynette Carson I read it right after it first came out Out of the entire series this was my favorite love Lothaire! Best book ever!

Christine I loved it! This was the first Immortals After Dark that I read, then I had to go back and read all the others. I loved seeing Lothaire show up in all of them, knowing how this one turned out. I just finished reading it again and loved it more now that I had all the backstory.

Lourdes So far, out of all IAD series Lothaire has to be my favorite. Even though he is such a jerk to Ellie. He changes though. But what I absolutely loved was that he stays evil, he didn't dramatic switch over to the good guys. He stayed where he is at.

Reazi Getting to Learn more and more about Lothaire through out the series. This book was just what I expected (in a way).I liked Ellie, she' resourceful, practical and funny. Lothaire on the other hand is a douchebag, more so than in the other books. But the story was good.

Becuase Lothaire is a douchebag who turned good-ish, he is likable to me but right now I am reading "Shadow's claim" and this one is so far great!!! It is about Lothair's cousin Trehan (well...I think he is a cousin anyways).

Trehan is using some of Lothaire's methods in dealing with his Bettina...titter-titter...I am so glad that KC mentions Lothaire in this book 8)

Vashti I loved Lothaire,it had to have been one of my most fav reads of last year.

You're in for treat

Christine I think this was one of my top books for the year. Lothaire the enemy of old was a hoot a bad boy gone good but still bad to the bone. Mailing his heart in a box and then getting the middle finger returned to him was hysterical. Her YA series was also fabulous. I love Kresley Cole's work and hope her star keeps rising.

Her latest 'shadows claim is great too!!!!

Meri Lothaire is the best of the series so far (currently reading Shadows Claim though :)).

He's the baddest, meanest, maddest of all. But oh so love him.

And his Bride is perfect for him. Stubborn, cunning and clever female.

Can't stop reading til dawn!!

Everyone loves Lothaire! There is none like him...swoon ....

Same here. I was really looking forward to this book because Lothaire is one of my favorite characters but this story was just retarded. He likes her enough to pop a couple of ropes on her belly but then is sooooo upset and disgusted that she allowed him to do that afterward? And after he turned her and had her om-nom-nom on his piece... give be a friggin' break!! I had to flip through the pages because it was so stupid it pissed me off.

I'm still waiting for the book featuring Lanthe and her guy. (I'm at work and cannot recall his name for the life of me.)I'm beginning to think it's not going to happen.

Part of Lothaire's charm is his warped ways because part of him still is aware of his own warped up mind... he does like nom-nom activities a lot, doesn't he...hahahahhahaaa

I loved the book, but I missed the "snark" of the valkrye and the witches.

Laura Northman One word: HOT!

If you loved Lothaire then you will also like Victor from "ecstasy in darkness" by Gena Showalter...I thought these two must have been cousins or something!

Sasha 1011 i looooved it. you get to see the ENEMY OF OLD as someone different. u see that he is not as impenetrable as he 1st appears. love it

Claudia the Night Owl I'm rather disappointed I didn't really like Lothaire throughout the book.

Christina I loved this book. it was my favorite of all so far.

Megan Just finished this book after re-reading all the others back to back. I can think of only one part that was a little much for me and only because of the pain and trying to wrap my head around it all and that was the bj/bite. Over all I loved the books Ellie being so different from Lothaire worked it gave him a way to be grounded. The way his madness was written gave you glimpses of the good he had and how he turned tunnel vision on his life to the point that he didn't know who or what he really wanted. The balance between good and bad or what can be seen as bad or good is laid out in a way that both Ellie and Lothaire learn more of who the are and what they need out of life and the work its going to take to get it.

Moonlight The last two heroes in the IAD books, Lothaire and Declan have been very dark characters. In particular, Declan caused so much suffering for so many, that I can't actually ever see a Regan happy with him. More like a life of him being hunted till dead like a Nazi war criminal. I found myself wondering if it wouldn't be better for him to die and come back in another incarnation. Lothaire was pretty dark too though I have to admit, it was darkly funny at times as well. I was glad when Trehan from Shadow's Claim wasn't a thorough bad boy. And I look forward to MacRieve.

Trvllvr I lo-v-v-v-v-v-ed it!!!!! I never post anywhere but I had to because I still think about this book. It was THE best romance book I have ever read!!!
I read it as soon as it came out...after inhaling all the other IAD books. All the IAD books were awesome but Lothaire is special. Even now after rereading it a few times I search and search for something as satisfying as his story but no other book has the humor and sensuality this book has. Love that the heroine is strong of character and stands her ground to a terrifying vilan and yet you grow to love the Enemy of old and embrace his defects and lack of relationship intelligence. You come to marvel at how a hillbilly girl domesticates a homicidal maniac. That was genius! A smart strong woman behind the man.

Veronica I was disappointed. I'd been wanting a Lothaire book for awhile but I didn't care much for Ellie. I had been hoping for a Lothaire/Nix pairing so I'm probably just biased but the brief time that Lothaire spent with Nix near the end of the book felt much more emotionally weighty to me that any of his shenanigans with Ellie. Oh well...

I thought it would be Nix and Lothaire too. Like one of those pairings that didn't work out for thousands of years... until now...

Veronica I'm glad I'm not the only who wanted them together. The White Queen and the Black King, one a master of foresight and the other of insight? What could be more perfect?

Christine I'd be interested in a book showing Lothaire's and Nix's history. But a couple?... Nope. The honor of untangling the mental mess that is Nix should go to a totally new character. Maybe a human who's a professor or scientists of bats (like on Gilligan's Island). Hilarity would ensue and it would be one heck of a read.

Maybe it really is Mike Rowe :)

Christine Amos I just about spit orange juice out my nose on that one.

Pam I loved this book......

C. I. Chesser The only other book I have read from this series is a hunger like no other, which I kind of liked. After reading Lothaire I'm not sure if I'd read any of the others though. I really hated his character and thought it ludicrous that the much abused heroine ended up apologizing to him in the end. I mean what the hell?! He should've been apologizing to her not the other way around. He should have gotten on his knees and groveled and she should've told him to suck it.

Savannah Storm Loved this book. Full of witty humor and irony! One of my favs in the Series!

message 95: by Pam (new) - rated it 5 stars

Pam I aaaaaaabsolutely loved this book !!!!!!!!!!!!

Rebecca I absolutely loved this book--- even if it was the first Kresley Cole book I have read--- it was sexy, tantalizing, extremely dramatic, emotional, heart warming and kept you on the edge of your seat. If you are into vampires and the whole concept of dominance and proving inferiority then this is it. The best part of this book is how Ellie ( the main character) breaks through to Lothaire's thick denial of her actually being his mate. Because one thing to remember when reading a Kresley Cole book is that the thought of a human, let alone mate, is un think able.

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

titter-titter..I read this book 4 times!!!!

Puffy91 I didn't like both mc.i felt underwhelmed.

Isabel Benneth This book is one of my favorite all time and I can read it over and over again,I feel it's the best in the series
