2. The contested ownership of the house on Bisgrove Street is the fulcrum of the novel's plot. Who, in your opinion, owns the house once Behrani has paid cash for it? What would be a fair solution to the conflict?

I think she needed a better lawyer!!!! hahahaha Honestly, I don't know what the legality of the situation is, but for argument's sake I will say that legally Behrani owned it because he paid for it. Morally, I think that it's another ball game. And honestly, I feel like the county should have played a much bigger part in resolving the situation. It was, after all, their mistake that caused the problems.
Here is my resolution. The county finds another house of slightly higher value that is also to be auctioned (happens all the time right?) and offers that to Behrani along with moving expenses and possibly a small monetary settlement for his troubles and moves Kathy back in with a considerably larger monetary settlement for her troubles!

Maybe it's because my husband and I are looking for a house, but I totally feel it's Behrani's house. Yes, the county made a mistake, but they spent almost a year trying to contact her and she didn't answer. She deserves a settlement, definitely, but they have to give Behrani what he is looking for because it represents his family's future as well. I like your solution!!
