Oops - listed this the wrong place, but here it is!Here are my completed books so far, although I am not quite sure how to figure out the points for #2, Part I. I think I have it right, but if not, I can change it.

I am a little confused ... do we just report our points on this forum and our list on the other forum??? My list is on the other forum.
As of 2/17 I have 21 points.
I think I posted on the wrong forum too. But I'm just keeping my list here, since I already started it.
you can do either...this is to make it easier at the end of the next read-a-thon...if you just post all your points in the same place
Dee wrote: "you can do either...this is to make it easier at the end of the next read-a-thon...if you just post all your points in the same place"Thanks Dee! Btw, these minichallenges are great!
I haven't posted any of my books for this challenge. I have them in a Word document that I'll just copy over at the end of the challenge. But, um, well, I have a LOT of books already. But my challenge IS to read at least 366 books this year. If I keep it up, I will have about 60 books (depending on how many of them have any type of romance in them) in my challenge folder.
Wow Ann that's great. Do you work, go to school, have kids or a spouse? As much as I love to read I don't think I could read that much. Oh I know, you are a speed reader. Either way lucky you.
Chunkster tremor (5 points per book): Romance the genre (part II - 3 points per book):
Fortune cookie (4 points per book):
Total points: 84
I don't work--and my husband is also (just) retired. I have some health issues, which means that on some days I can barely move. Those are the days when I might read 2 or even 3 books, depending on the pain. And yes, I am a speed reader. My daughter is grown and has teenagers already, so no worries about that. But I DO have my Mum that I visit every day--she's suffering from dementia and Alzheimers and doesn't always know who I am. She's also in Hospice care, so I know that I will only have her for a limited time, and even with her not knowing me, I feel its important that I go and visit with her often.
I am sorry to hear that Ann. At least you can discover another world with your books sometimes. Some people have never figured that out.

Should we be posting our books occassionally? I was just going to wait til the end of the challenge and post them all at once.
I'm just posting mine at the end, too. I keep track of my reads on my personal thread and then copy it over here when the end of the month comes. I don't think it matters how we do it, except that we should all do it at the end at least.
Ann aka Iftcan wrote: "Should we be posting our books occassionally? I was just going to wait til the end of the challenge and post them all at once."You can do whichever suits you. It doesn't really matter. We'll be tallying at the end.
Ok, a quick question on the Chunksters. I just finished reading a book that was actually 3 books combined into one. It was over 600 pages between the 3 books. Could THAT count as a Chunkster? Or are they only ONE story in the book?
Ann aka Iftcan wrote: "Ok, a quick question on the Chunksters. I just finished reading a book that was actually 3 books combined into one. It was over 600 pages between the 3 books. Could THAT count as a Chunkster? O..."If you are planning to count them as one book, you can count it as a chunkster. Whatever works for you. Usually, when I read a single physical book that's actually three books (like I once did the LOTR trilogy), I count it as one book. Since the book is published both as a massive chunkster and as three individual books, it's really up to you how you would like to count them. Maybe depending on whether having read a chunkster scores more brownie points with you than reading 3 shorter books?

The particular one I just finished was a romance, so the 3 books counted more individually than as a chunkster. But I have 3 more books like that sitting in my tbr pile, 2 of which are NOT romances, so I'm thinking I might read one of them for the chunkster, but no idea if I'm going to be "in the mood" or not.

Total points Feb/Mar: 47
When you have a couple thousand dusty books sitting here on your TBR shelf, and someone says, "I'll give you points if you read them", THAT'S motivation!! (wink, wink) Plus you can tell your husband you are reading them for a challenge - and he thinks that is a good thing!!
Nancy wrote: "When you have a couple thousand dusty books sitting here on your TBR shelf, and someone says, "I'll give you points if you read them", THAT'S motivation!! (wink, wink) Plus you can tell your husb..."
I don't have a husband Nancy but I will definitely be trying that one on my kids.

Romance
Out of Oz 3pts
Thanks Audrey! I was on a roll ntil I hit Out of Oz. It was long but not long enough for a chunkster and a bit of a slow read, good though.

Tracy,
Did it work with your kids? It works very well with my husband!! lol
Well Nancy, I tried it on my son and he wanted to know what I would win if I read it. He hasn't grasped the concept of self gratification yet. I tried explaining but he just couldn't get it.
haha that's funny Tracy!I always feel a lot of self gratification when I finish a novel that took me a while, or that is really popular, so I know where you're coming from!
Tracy wrote: "Well Nancy, I tried it on my son and he wanted to know what I would win if I read it. He hasn't grasped the concept of self gratification yet. I tried explaining but he just couldn't get it."Tell him you get points from your friends on Good Reads, and if you read enough (or even if you don't but you don't have to tell him that - hehe), you get to read even more books!! That should confuse him even more!!
Nancy wrote: "Tracy wrote: "Well Nancy, I tried it on my son and he wanted to know what I would win if I read it. He hasn't grasped the concept of self gratification yet. I have told him his grades would improve and subjects would be easier for him but he is an A student so that argument didn't carry much weight.
Nancy wrote: "When you have a couple thousand dusty books sitting here on your TBR shelf, and someone says, "I'll give you points if you read them", THAT'S motivation!! (wink, wink)"I like that! :)
Imagine if we were being paid for it!

Can we please find a way to do that?? Wouldn't that be awesome? Think how much money we would all make ---- to spend on more books, of course!!
