uploading ebooks under creative commons

Also, what is this site's policy for reviewing already uploaded ebooks? Do they get checked or removed? How do you find copyrighted content?
I repeat: questions about GoodRead policy regarding ebooks should be taken to the Feedback group. Librarians do not establish that sort of policy; GR staff does.
I would really like to clear up the situation with uploading an ebook file for a book covered under Creative Commons.
I thought it would be ok to upload, since the book is freely available from the author. But then I read this on the "ebook copyright how-to" page:
"Uploading copyrighted content without the explicit consent of the copyright owner will result in both the content AND your personal profile being cancelled."
The book in question (Accelerando) is still copyrighted by Stross. From his site: "I wrote "Accelerando" and I "own" the copyright on it..." (http://www.accelerando.org/copyright/)
However, the CC license itself states: "You are free: [...:] to Share — to copy, distribute and transmit the work" (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b...)
So logically, I should be able to upload it. I'd like to:
1) Get confirmation
2) Put up a clear explanation on the "ebook copyright how-to" page (or even the upload page) of the decision with respect to Creative Commons
Maybe if we include a link to the license under which the work is licensed that will be a good compromise.
