Character's and symbols/motifs surrounding them..

Rather than discuss each individual character and symbols associated with them, I wanted to make a post where we could discuss individual ideas/ repeating motifs, and all the Characters associated with each. These are a few things I noticed.
Auri - Obviously the moon is a motif, it is constantly mentioned more than usual in passages involving her.
Denna - Obviously she is never far away from anything Chandrian related. Her ring might symbolize something, and her white teeth are often mentioned.
Kvothe - cut flower, his eyes, fire.
Felurian - Butterflies, twilight
Bast - twilight, eyes.
Maer Alveron - Cut flower, ash grey.


Note: Denna is said to be lovelier than the moon, where as Felurian and Auri are as lovely as the moon.

yeah but Bast clarified that Denna was only pretty to Kvothe...

I thought he said she was pretty but not that pretty, she had a weird nose and he didn't like her ears. He said she wasn't anything special.
I think Kvothe got pissed, or at least kind of butt hurt.

Lol... no bast said she had a crooked nose and perfect ears... he liked her ears but said she was plain in comparison to a lot of girls...

ahh okay. Well Kvothe often finds beauty in simple things, Felurian is considered to have equal when it comes to looks,but Kvothe finds Denna more beautiful, and he likes her hair braided not exactly an extravagant style.

The moon is also almost always mentioned in conjunction with Denna, I've made note of it in my personal copy.

Or more often then not, the lack of a moon being around.
