My suggestion is "Three men in a boat" by Jerome K Jerome. A very funny story about 3 men and their dog on a boat ride up the Thames. Simply hilarious!
Dito - was fun last night!
Kiwi
I have heard good things about Kiwi's suggestion, but I'm going to go with The Third Policeman by Flan O'Brien - also a classic and apparently very, very funny!
Here's a link to Amazon in case you want to read about it.

Thanks you two for your suggestions!
I am not quite sure if we're ready to vote yet. I would say I'll wait until tomorrow night with the doodle. Those who did not yet get a chance to suggest something can still do so. I hope that is OK for you.
Enjoy your weekend!

Sorry I couldn't come last week, my grandparents were over visiting. See you soon, Becca.
Hey,
I guess our choice is obvious. If someone (well, we'll need at least 7 someones) who still wants to vote, you'll get the chance until tomorrow night and then I'll close this one and put up the date link.
Hope that is OK with you ...
See you soon
(maybe the next time, Becca)

Hey Carlos,
We have just voted for the next book. Until the next meeting (which is more or less once a month) you have time to read it. During the meeting then we have a chance to exchange on the book but also to get together. We usually meet in the 1st arrondissment (L'Imprévu, 9 Rue Quincampoix).
Now for all goodreaders:
Polls are closed. We are now reading:
The third policeman - flann o'brien (congrats Alan - finally your suggestion got through ;).
Those of you interested in reading the book may now vote on the dates which fit for you:

Carlos, feel free to vote for the date, too, if you want to join for the next meeting.
I will close the date doodle Sunday night.
See you soon,
Frizzi

Was nice seeing some of you again tonight and the first time this year
From now on we will collect new suggestions for the next book. The topic is:
Humorous fiction
You can post the suggestions until Friday night. Then we'll put up a doodle where you can vote for a book. The date will probably be at the end of February. We'll vote for this later on.
See you for the next meeting!
