Why do you think fire is a good symbol for Katniss? I wanna know what you guys think!

fire is a good symbol for katniss because fire is unpredictable.
Fire is Katniss' symbol because it catches hold quickly and burns through things easily.
Katniss is the definition of fire. She is unpredictable. She grows fast on you and then tears you down if she chooses. She's deadly but also useful. Also beautiful. Fire is beautiful, but dangerous.
It shows her ruthlessness.. how she is determind, and the excitement and danger of her.
Because fire brings light to the darkest of places
Wow, this would make a good essay topic. I agree with all the answers thus far.
Because she has a burning passion for people's rights, and to keep her loved one's safe.
It suits her. She is fierce and demanding just like fire. Fire is able to go with just a little fuel and always is random. Katniss's personality is suited for fire.

I'd say she wasn't the fire itself, but the little spark that set Panem on fire. I agree with the tool part. It doesn't really matters how fierce she was, in the end she was just a lighter that has been used.

Excellent discussion topic, I agree. To me, Katniss IS fire. Beautiful, unpredictable, and absolutely vicious. Once she is set on a course, there is no stopping her. And, while I did enjoy the books, Katniss was slightly irrational, and very quick to let her temper flare.
Fire resembles Katniss. Katniss is bold, so is fire, Fire is dangerous and sometimes i think of Katniss as a Dangerous girl :D Fire is also beautiful and so is Katniss
because fire is essential and life-bringing, but also incredibly deadly and one of the worst kinds of torture. gotta say katniss is kinda like that.... she's epic and great..... but deadly and kinda horrible as well.
I would say fire represents Katniss' temper and her strength... They are also both mesmerizing. Kind of charismatic, really.

To be honest though, I have never liked katniss. If she was in my school, we wouldn't be friends. Am I horrible?
Katniss seems kind of nice at first. But if you get to close, she'll burn you. She's very sneaky.

Fire is an awesome symbol for Katniss because she is wild, dangerous, unpredictible, hard to contain, beautiful (in a scary kind of way) and nobody can tell her what to do. Fire is just like this and therefore that is her symbol.
Fire is perfect as a symbol for her because Fire can obliterate and destroy but Fire is also essential for new growth and life in nature.Katniss is helping destroy but after the destruction she helps new life and growth.
fire = power, aggressive, unpredictable and cannot be tamed
