:D Ok, I think I'll read either The Graveyard Book or First Grave on the Right for that one. We'll see what peaks my interest more.

Good job Angi! That's some persevering. Hope the interesting one made up for the not so much :D
Have to say, the 9-tenth one has an interesting tittle. I'd like to know if it's part of a series too.

Lol. I can just imagine the love that person must be feeling now ^^

I'm choosing First Grave on the Right for the ghosts shelf in the end. I'm already a fifth in.

Angi | 485 comments Amy you are a lucky girl! I LOVE when that happens!! :)

Taly, it is part of a series I haven't read yet. Looks like the first one is The Devil Inside (Morgan Kingsley, #1) by Jenna Black I'll have to add that one to my TBR pile and I LOVE The Graveyard Book - but then again, I love Neil Gaiman! :)

Okay... going to check out what I am reading. I suspect it will be "Paranormal" that I have been wanting to read for months but I have to confirm that it is on the list.... brb! :)

Are you picking this book? I am not sure.

message 112: by Angi (new)

Angi | 485 comments Um, I actually meant "Paranormalcy" :-D It's on the list so that is what I'll be reading Sirens! :) Pretty excited about it too!! Now if only the chidren, the husband and the cat would leave me be for awhile........ speaking of..just noticed my 3.5 yr old is playing in lots and lots of sprinkles right now which means she is making a huge mess.... then she comes out dancing and eating them... haha.

Anyhow, off to the aquarium in a little bit.. I'll be fitting my book into there somewhere. Paranormalcy by Kiersten White

Happy Sunday!

I think we had a bit of miscommunication, because those books don't share authors. Unless the volume you posted is a compilation of short stories with a prequel (which would explain a lot, 'cause I'm finding a lot of back story for a book that's labelled as the first in the series).

As for Gaiman, he's a debt of mine. I suspect I'll love him, so I'm holding out 'tll I get hardcopies that I can add to the family library :D

Hope you enjoy the aquarium

message 114: by Angi (new)

Angi | 485 comments Sorry! You are absutely right. I was thinking the story you were talking about was another one. Unfortunately I didn't see a series for that one . Too bad :(

Amy- I'm picking "Paranormalcy". Already a bit through it and I'm really liking it.

First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones

I've read First Grave on the Right 02/12/2012
by Darynda Jones for the Ghosts shelf & rate it ★★★

So. It was interesting. And a new concept for me. I'd never read grim reapers. That and the decent writing will probably see me taking following volumes of this series.

The pace was best. We come into the story with a lot of things already happening or already happened. Kinda like a persons life is whenever the subject is entering their thirties. Lots of back-story and noodle incidents that we get to know about as the story unfolds and Charley recounts them to other characters. Very nice.

I liked the support characters. I liked the main character too, when I wasn't irritated by the witticisms.

Yeah, major complain. The protagonist's "witty one liners". It was packet with them. To an annoying point. I didn't know that was possible! Intruding even in the narration! Bothersome and distracting.
Oh, I also had a problem with the repetition. A bit of straight erasing edition would have done this book some good, but it wasn't egregious.

Bitching aside, I enjoyed myself. It was entertaining.

And Reyes was HOT! =D

Angi | 485 comments Whew - I really got into "Paranormalcy" and because of that I finished quickly. Here is my review:

Finished: Paranormalcy by Kiersten White "Paranormalcy" on 2/14/2012 ★★★★

I really enjoyed this one! It was fast-paced and held my interest. About 3/4ths of the way through it slowed down a bit but not so much that I lost interest. I really liked Evelyn and felt for her being alone all of her life and feeling different. I also really enjoyed the mystery surrounding Evelyn's origin. Such cool characters and concept. I think Evelyn's story is just beginning. Because of this, I can't wait to read the next one!

Angi | 485 comments For my free space read, I'll be reading "Whisper of Evil" by Kay Hooper. Whisper of Evil (Evil, #2) (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit, #5) by Kay Hooper I've always enjoyed everything I've read from her. Though I haven't read the first in this series (as this is the 2nd) if it's anything like her "Fear" series (which are GREAT!), you don't have to read them in order.

message 119: by [deleted user] (new)

Good work Angi! I have to say, your review has raised my interest. And good luck with Whisper.

message 120: by Angi (new)

Angi | 485 comments Thank you Taly!! Good work to you too ! I had to add your book to my TBR list because it sounds worth a read! :) I'm already really enjoying "Whisper". It is some of the same characters from the "Fear" series so I love that. Today I received my booksfree books.... my next Sookie book and the latest Cat and Bones book so I'm so ready for the next shelf! Hope one of them fit in there somewhere!! lol

message 121: by Angi (new)

Angi | 485 comments Crap! I forgot the rules about the freespace :( It doesn't look like Kay Hooper is on our bookshelf at all.. how is that possible? It also doesn't apply to any of the other free space rules so, I'll need to pick another book... I'll get back with you later on which one.

ALSO, Please everyone check & make sure I am up to date on your books. I have gone through the list, but sometimes I miss things right in front of my face.

I am taking my time with this book I am on. I can't really read it for a long time. I hate one of the characters, and even thogh it's a good book, I cannot stand reading about this guy. I'll be done this weekend.

♡ Sassy ~ Amy ♡ | 494 comments I finished my book Ecstasy Untamed (Feral Warriors, #6) by Pamela Palmer on 02/17/12 and give it ★★★★★

This series is about Feral Warriors - Shifters who are fighting to keep the Daemons locked away to save humanity, while the Mages want them released so they can take over the world. The Ferals are specially marked warriors of the Therian race who can shift to a specific animal.

I first started this review giving only 4 stars. BUT I hade to bump it up to a 5 ONLY because of one factor... I will explain further down.

Faith is a Therian woman over 100 years old who has lived in Europe her whole life. She lives among young human girls working on the streets helping them get off and better thei lives.

As she is walking home one night the new Feral warrior Maxim sees her. They are drawn to each other & he claims her as his mate. She feels the pull & agrees and they immediately leave for the Feral house in the US.

Maxim believes he is aboe all in class & is very rude at the Feral house embarrassing Faith. Faith has met Hawke & is drawn to him with feeling & not just a pull. They try to avoid each other because she is Maxims mate.

Maxim is supposed to be the Fox shifter, but now who knows because come to find out 17 souls were released from a worm hole vortex where the souls of these animals have been held for 100's of years. AND something isn't right about some of them.

Maxim is truly evil, and you find AFTER the first 3 boring chapters & at that moment, the book takes off! Give it time. It's a 4 star book for me, but because page 124 freaked me out so bad, I had to give it a 5 star rating. I got chills & I never expected that one. VERY DARK!

Faith is a happy & sweet fun girl with blue tipped hair & she feels she has to be with Maxim because she is supposed to be his mate. (view spoiler)

Faith is the only one who can calm Hawke & So many things are happening because the release of the 17.... I could go on and on.

I put the spoiler in, because I wished I had been given that info. msel. It took me 3 days to get through the first 3 chapters because I was bored with the push over heroine. I could have just forced my way through to the good parts, knowing they were coming, but I wasn't looking forward to almost 400 pages of this... It got WAAAAY better!

I also have to admit that there is a ton of recap if you just start with this book. You won't feel lost. Since I have read them all close together & heard it all before, I did skip those parts. Didn't hurt at all!

Cee | 180 comments *sigh* I'm reading way too many books at once guys... Will try to finish two of them this weekend. I'm about halfway in my "ghosts" read now, Fracture.

message 138: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm glad you book improved so much after those three first chapters, Amy. Specially since you seemed so bogged down before :D

Easy Celine. It happens. Sometimes I feel like I have some attention span problem from the amount of books I read simultaneously, switching and back every other chapter. You'll probably end up suddenly finishing a lot of books.
And good luck with Fracture, it has a very interesting summary. I'd like to see your review of it.

Hello Sirens! Shelf 3 is up, and it's "Favorite Series", a personal shelf.

Question: Can it be a re-read? Since I've already started APB, that one is out, but I thought I could do with a re-read of the saga, since it's been so long.

booklovinrn | 106 comments Dark Desires After Dusk by Kresley Cole 2/10/12 ★★★★

I thought I had already posted my review, sorry ladies.

I love a bad boy and Cade surely fits the bill. He's rude, overbearing, arrogant, crude, says whatever he wants, looks good doing it and he has HORNS! He didn't let Holly get away with anything and pretty much called her out on anything he could. Holly is a obsessive-compulsive mathematician. She lived a very simple life until she learned that demons exist and she is a woman destined to have a baby with one of them!Cade and Holly are great together! They are very different but the passion between them is more than obvious. They have many funny moments and I loved her blushing when Cade says dirty things to her!

I laughed out loud way more than normal throughout the book. I loved the bar scene and how she interacted with the other demons. I totally laughed when she petted the demons horns, and all the demons in the bar groaned. Hahaha.

I am ready to move on to the next book in the IAD series.
