R4: Team #3 ~ The Power of 3 [SECOND PLACE]

Jennifer - that's one of my favorites in that series and I think it's the one that's the most fun. I love Bowen and Mari.

Good Job!! :D

One of the things I've come to love about this series is the rotating 1st person POV. I admit it through me off at first but by now I really like how we see the world and other characters through different eyes. Jaime is the narrator here and as a necromancer her powers are different and far less physical than Elena's or even Paige or Eve, who at least have spells to defend themselves. I really enjoyed Jaime as a narrator and how she has to be more resourceful and thoughtful since she can't rely on those physical powers.
Although these books are not primarily romances there is always a romance thread running through them and I've been anticipating Jaime & Jeremy's story. I love that they are older than a typical romance couple (40s & 50s) and that they act their age. They think about consequences and their responsibilities, even when it's clear they desire each other they talk and think about what the actions means. It doesn't sound very romantic as I type that but in a genre full of 20somethings blinded by lust I found their relationship refreshing.
I found the central mystery to be satisfying and twisty enough that I really didn't guess it before it was revealed. The mystery is a bit darker in this one than in previous installments because of the victims involved but Jaime's voice, her give and take with Jeremy and some Hollywood antics provide welcome relief and keep the book from being too dark.

Can't find it - ugh! Changing my book to

This is Bowen and Mari's story and they were hilarious to read about. They are on The Hie each for their own reasons when they encounter each other and Bowen thinks Mari has cast a spell on him that is making him want her because he thinks his only mate died a couple hundred years ago.
This one has a bit of everything passion, magic, adventure, wickedness, and I love the mix of witch and werewolf. The characters are strong and work good together and although I had a love/hate relationship with them at first, I felt the sparks flying in just the first couple of pages! I wasn't liking Mari's angle of wanting to "prove herself" and Bowen was just a bit overly mean and full of anger but everything starts coming together quickly and I got a better grip and understanding on them and so far this is my most favorite book of this series hands down!

This is a really good read & the 2nd book in the series is just as good...I am waiting patiently (not) for the 3rd book to be released in a couple of weeks...

I have to agree with that! Thank goodness for reasons to read specific books :)

Never let it be said that Richelle Mead doesn't know how to begin a series. This first book in the Georgina Kincaid series is a really fun read. Georgina is a sympathetic narrator and the world is full of interesting creatures and characters. I love that there's a management structure to the forces of good and evil; and that the forces of hell are responsible for middle management (and I say that as a middle manager). I thought that the love triangle was a bit too drawn out but it all made sense in the end. Now, I'm just hoping that this series doesn't take the downturn that the Dark Swan series took in book 3 & 4.

Just what I needed (NOT!) to get sucked into another new series! I enjoyed seeing Maddy learn that even though, as a soul collector/agent of death, she knew much more than ordinary humans, there was a lot more out there than she was aware of. Of course, she found this out at the same time that some unsavory enemies tried to kill her out of anger against her relatives, and it started with the murder of her best friend. As Maddy learns more about who and what she is, her life becomes more and more complicated. This is a really enjoyable read and I look forward to seeing what else happens as Maddy's story continues.

I finally got the chance to pull this remarkable book off my TBR shelf and I enjoyed it sooo much! I Love the covers for this series! It's a mixture of teenage angst with a sliver of comedy and a side of oh my God I have super powers! Sophie can't stay out of trouble no matter how hard she tries and it seems the more she tries the bigger the trouble she does get into! I felt so sorry for her in the beginning of the book because she just seemed a bit sad and lonely and never having really had any contact with her father her whole life has hurt her more than she lets on but then after constantly beeing bullied in her new school she begins to come out of her shell and fight back a bit and by the end of Hex Hall she is able to stand up for herself and has some tough decisions to make that will change her life forever.

This book (and series) is an interesting glimpse into a strange world where Angels are nearly immortal and are the makers of vampires. Elena, a Guild Hunter (hunter of vampires that have broken their "contracts" with the Angels that made them), (view spoiler) All in all, a satisfying read and I will be continuing to read this series.["br"]>["br"]>

Im glad you liked this book - its been popping up a lot in other reading groups I belong to - I cant wait for

I loved the first book in this series, and I really liked the second book but this one was just "meh" for me. There wasn't anything I really disliked about it but I found it very easy to put down and I was easily distracted while reading it. I liked both Carling and Rune but I had a hard time getting invested in their story. It definitely picked up at the end but took way too long to get there. The next one in the series is getting really good reviews so maybe this one was just a misstep.

Where to start...Its a story about a girl, who has blue hair and how she finds out who she is and where she comes from. Some parts got me really sad, that i even cried a little. Theres also love in it, but this story is so much more the just another love story.
