Leslie Deaton (lesliedeatonbooks) | 6 comments Is anyone members of Wattpad or Scribd? And if so, what do you think? Have you downloaded and provided feedback? I'm considering posting half of my novelA Marked Past but I wanted to check with you all first to see what you think of the sites.

Sara Niles (saraniles) | 16 comments I am a member of Watt pad....the majority of the patrons appear to be very young (14-18) which of course dictates the type books that appeal to them.

I think it is a promotional avenue, especially if your writing style is youth oriented.

Kristine Cayne (kristinecayne) | 188 comments I'm a member of Wattpad. I would agree with Sara regarding the general age of the patrons. However, Wattpad has been approaching groups of adult authors for inclusion in some partnership programs. It's been an interesting experience so far :-)

Vicki Batman | 17 comments I recently joined Wattpad, put up a short story. I heard from one person. I'll give it a while.

Kristine Cayne (kristinecayne) | 188 comments Did you post in the Share your Story group? Tell people you're looking for stories to read, and post the link to your story in the post. You'll get a lot of people posting links. Many of them will also check out your story. It's not a guarantee you'll get votes or comments, but it does help if you read other people's work :-)

Hi
what R U talking about here?

message 7: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Bond (merrybond) | 6 comments I put up my non-fiction on Wattpad when I head about it for the first time a few weeks ago. It's a writing book so it hasn't gotten many hits, but I think the site could be great if you've got a YA.
Elena, Wattpad is a site where you upload your book a chapter at a time so people can read it for free and comment on it if they want.

Thanks Meredith !

What r u doing now??

message 9: by Meredith (new)

Meredith Bond (merrybond) | 6 comments I'm thinking of putting up a YA I'm going to self-publish soon. I want to finish writing the third book of the series before I begin to publish them. It would probably be a good idea to post the beginning of the first book, though, to build up interest in the series before I begin to publish them. I'll probably do that after I finish writing the book and while I'm waiting for my editor to read it.

Perfect !!

What is the name of the book?

Bridget Bowers (bridgetbowers) | 19 comments I joined Wattpad, but haven't done much with it. I looked over some stories, but those that seemed to be getting the most attention weren't all that interesting to me. I agree it seems to be a younger set, but I figure as things grow you never know what you will discover.

That's right
I noticed the same thing.
I didn't even know how to add friends.
But it is a good site if you want to publish anything and everyone can see it

Kristine (krazy_kd) | 4 comments Heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy!

^ okay, that was too cheery, considering it's midnight where I am O_O Oh well.

Aaanyway, I'm a member of Wattpad! I've had it for a couple of years now, I think? You're all correct, most people on there are about 13-18 year olds? And yes, the stories on the 'Whats Hot' page, well... Let's just say it's aimed at very young readers. The plot more or less copies one another. And I'm pretty sure more teens are starting to join it for some sort of social networking thing rather than writing; BUT, there are quite a lot of very good writers on there, and a lot of people willing to read/review your work? It's worth a shot at least :) Good luck!

John Hennessy | 12 comments I just posted the first chapter of my YA book At the End. I'll try to update later with some results as to its reception by teens. Here is the link to it:
