Which cover is your favorite and did that change after reading the book?

Before reading ToP the AU/US covers were my fav but now after reading it I have a bigger appreciation for the US cover.

US Cover Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

UK Cover Touch of Power (Avry of Kazan, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

AU Cover Touch of Power (Healer, #1) by Maria V. Snyder

UK!

1. It goes with the rest of the MVS UK covers in my bookcase. (or box for now)

2. It screams tough heroin! The US covers says story about a teen girl to me and the AU cover says love story...

I don't see any tie into this book for the UK cover though. Maybe the lightning/light coming from her hand is supposed to represent her healing powers but her powers weren't described like that.

With the US cover you have the death lily tie in an there's a castle in the background. Yes the colors are a little too girly for the story but I like the lily tie in.

The AU cover does look a little romancy but it shows her healer tattoo.

Becky | 500 comments i thought her healer tattoo was on her arm, and i thought it looked like a flower of hands

also, i think the whole lightning thing is good, it shows she is powerful, and also i like the trees in the background, perhaps a glimpse of Kerrick's powers?

I see the forest in the background, and that lightning to the hand? I dunno but it looks like a powerful touch! ;) But most important the clothes etc give the cover the feeling that goes with the story.

message 7: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Yeah, it shows the reality of Avery's life, and the US cover (sorry if I offend anyone with this comment) is just slightly too airy fairy for my tastes, all the flowers and stuff, also I thought the lilies were big enough to eat a person, the lilly in her hand is no way big enough to gulp you down!

All good points. Maybe I'll just have to get all three covers ;)

Ooooh me 2! (I already have two, I just need the AU cover to complete the set!)

message 10: by Lola (new)

Lola (lolasreviews) | 4 comments I think all three covers are nice, but I like the UK cover the best, I have the book with that cover. I still have to read it :P

*TheWrittenWord*Mo (thewrittenwordmo) | 76 comments I prefer the UK cover cos it matches the rest of the books I have from MVS style wise :P

but then I like the pinkness of the US cover ;)

message 12: by Anna (new)

Anna I absolutely love the AU cover. That's the one I'll probably get eventually. :P

I was looking for a good picture of the healer tattoo, and when I enlarged the tat on the AU cover I got this:

It looks cool, but it doesn't look like (and I quote) "a simple circle of hands. From a few feet away, it resembled a daisy with hand-shaped petals."

message 16: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments wasn't the tattoo supposed to be on her arm, not her back?

message 17: by Christina (new)

Christina | 4 comments I love the AU cover because the greens and yellows of it remind me of all the refences to nature; earth, sunlight, forests...it captures a lot about the atmosphere and story :)

Amber Dawn | 7 comments Oooo, I love the UK cover! It's so epic! It just looks like a better book than the other two even though its the same book...

Becky | 500 comments has the UK cover been released for scent of magic?

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) I just got the UK cover of Scent of Magic and I absolutely love it.
I have the US cover of the first one but now I have to buy the UK edition as well just so they match.

UK cover of Scent of Magic is stunning and I just couldn't stop staring at it when I got it yesterday.

Amanda (pandwen) | 4 comments i love the UK cover and it would match all my lovely UK MVS books but that requires ordering them from the UK and i can't wait that long. also the cover doesn't capture the story to me considering the story i am quite happy with the new AUS covers Touch of Power (Avry of Kazan, #1) by Maria V. Snyder Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder

Lucy (lucyf95) Love the covers becuase they portray Yelena, Opal and Avry pretty well

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
Yeah me too. They're portrait as strong woman, not the soft females that are on the US covers.

Lucy (lucyf95) exactly!
