I was thinking about Cato's death scene...and Rue's...and basically all the other ones, I thought "Geez it's a pretty gruesome story at times...how much will they show or will they water it down a bit?" What do you guys think?

i think they shouldn't hold back. show all the gore. that is what makes the hunger games special. collins wasn't afraid to describe death scenes. they should show as much of the blood as possible.

(Though I may have nightmares for a few weeks...)

I don't think they can risk rating it R for gore. Because the audience is going to be all eighteen or under, mostly.

What do you think they'll show of Cato's death scene though? Like him getting ripped to shreads or just see him getting attacked and then a cut to katniss and peeta listening to his agonized crys...
probably the part when the mutts drag him into the cornucopia, and show little segments of the mutts chewing.

Yeah, thats exactly it. I hate that, but I understand where they're coming from. The people who make it, I mean. It'll be their job rake in as much money as possinle.But still...

Anyway, yes I think they'll show him getting dragged... not into the cornucopia it seems. Then they'll just make sure you hear his screams. and I think they'll show his face and Katniss' arrow fly into his skull.

I know. The cornucopia seemed like an important part. They change too many stories.

It better be graphic. That's what the Hunger Games is all about. To show how cruel war and violence is. I hope they put that into effect.
I know...but for the sake of keeping their audience and blah, it'll probably be less graphic...
If you think about it, The Hunger Games aren't too graphic. Maybe Cato's death would earn it a PG-13. Other than that, Katniss just shoots people through the heart. There was worse in the blue-people Avatar (which, by the way, was Pocahontas redone)

However, it's one thing to read the descriptions, and it's another to view them...I'll agree with the others-they can't afford to make it rated R.
