Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Here is our M/M buddy read for February :) I thought I'd post this while I thought about buddy reads...

I think we thought we'd put this book up to start at the beginning of the month. Does this still suit everyone?

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Great! 1 Feb is our start date for reading but of course, we'll just keep commenting and chatting for as long as we want :)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I've read the first four chapters now - really enjoying it! Can't wait to see where it goes tonight :)

Fran | 12284 comments Just started it Jane, I'm glad you like it so far :)

Fran | 12284 comments I am 20% in. A little slow start for me but looking forward to seeing where this goes.

message 9: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm over 50% now - the whole read is actually a little slow, but I'm still enjoying it :)

D.G. | 4477 comments Hope you enjoy this one ladies.

I'm a horrible reading mood and every book is going very slooow this month.

Shell | 2 comments Bah, got 2 to finish before I can start this...probably this weekend for me.

It's funny how that happens sometime - nothing really 'takes' for no apparent reason.

Did you want to delay I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier, Shell? I'm fine to push it back a week - I'll just swap books around :)

message 14: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Feb 03, 2012 02:09PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hehehe - I've just finished it. 4 stars because ultimately I liked the relationship development. The book flows along at the same rate, a bit like a peaceful river - but I really enjoyed the storyline; without changing it's course, perhaps the pace could have been ramped up at times to make it all a bit more 'exciting' (and I don't mean sexier sex, or more sex) with more intense writing.

It's the sort of book that might grab me more the second time around, depending on my mood...

Naw I'm good Jane :)

Bitchie (matron) So what's next month's M/M read going to be?

message 17: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Feb 07, 2012 08:53PM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I think we were thinking to read The Curtis Reincarnation. (This was my suggestion ;)

I just need to make sure we can still buy it (either from a publisher or the author's site.)

What does everyone think?

*****edit*****

Yup - we can get it from Smashwords and the author's website ($5.95)

Fran | 12284 comments Jane, I put this one down for a bit, but I promise to pick it back up soon and finish it. I just wish I liked Nick more.

Geez I'm slack - I have to strain my memory to remember which one was Nick! ...Was he the counsellor or the mechanic?!

message 20: by Fran, Moderator (new) - added it

Fran | 12284 comments The counselor. I like the mechanic, the one with the anger issues. I read a little more of it today. So slow, not bad, just slow. If I read a little of it every day I should finish it by the end of the month, lol.

I am in for next months- The Curtis Reincarnation- looks really good.

Shell | 2 comments ARGH! I went to start it tonight, and I haven't purchased it yet. Bleh, looks like I'll start this weekend as I'm waiting for the Fictionwise discount to come out.

message 22: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Good luck Fran and Shell. Hope it picks up for you soon Fran... (but really, I think the pace remains much the same throughout)

message 23: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Fingers crossed for 60% FW code :)

Shell | 2 comments Mine too! I have a huge wishlist that needs to be whittled down.

Shell | 2 comments YES! 60% FW code...I got 12 books including this one. It's on next on my reading list. Just gotta finish I'll Be Your Drill, Soldier

message 26: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm going to indulge in a few without a doubt! My FW wishlist is a bit scary, so it won't be all that are on the wishlist...

message 27: by Dee (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments hoping to get to this one this weekend

I know we have Curtis Reincarnation for March, what about April? This one doesn't come out until the end of March, but i'm intrigued - Frat Boy and Toppy

message 28: by Fran, Moderator (new) - added it

Fran | 12284 comments That one looks good Dee!

Bitchie (matron) Dee, it does, just wishlisted it.

message 30: by Dee (new) - rated it 3 stars

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments and its a good length - 50k words

message 31: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm on board too - I like the sound of that one :) I've just bought 18% Grey, and haven't read an Anne Tenino yet, so a new author for me as well! (I doubt I'll get around to 18% Grey by then...)

Shell | 2 comments Finished this one. I have to say it was an unusual change to read about abuse, but from the "abuser's" point of view. If only Logan could have said something sooner, it might have avoided years of needless confusion. I liked the book, and gave it 3 stars. It was slow going but the storyline was good.
