She wriggled free and raced off again, giggling. She weaved around trees and leapt over a stream. "gotta do better than that" she called back "especially if you want the prize"

She paused when she heard the thump and ran back. She tilted her head and asked "are you alright?" worry shone in her eyes

She gasped with surprise as she found her face inches from his "I do believe that you won" she said softly, kissing him

"you get to claim me" she said in a breathy voice

She leaned forward and kissed him, melting into his arms. "i love and trust you Somer" she whispered in his ear "claim me"

She looked at him and asked "where then?"

"I believe that you could. I love you Somer, being without you is tortorous to me" she whispered

"I feel like I've known you my whole life. If that is really what is bothering you, then we can wait and learn more about each other"

She took a deep shuddering breath "he was the packs Beta, but katsu killed him because he was r-raping members of the pack." she looked away "I used to think that i might one day qualify as his mate if i proved myself. It was a stupid crush of course. but seeing him....lying there dead it just..." she shivered, not noticing the tears trickling down her cheeks, she hid her face again "its just the same, just the same as last time"

"Died, just like last time, why did they have to die too? Attacked and killed in surprise. No, mother! please, stay with me, dont leave!" she cried out, reliving the memory "Mom! Mom! please come back! Its not safe! Stay in hiding with me until they leave! They will kill you like they did Papa!"

She sobbed into his shoulder "The morning came and i left my hiding place to find them both dead w-with n-no heads! there was so much blood.......so pale and cold...."

She listened to the soothing sound of his voice and tried to calm down.

She took a deep breath and wiped her eyes. "Alis took me in after he found me...there. I've been in his pack for about a month now, and havent been able to sleep well.....I get nightmares"
