I haven't read the whole series and to be exact I have only read the first book and loved it and havent gotten around to the others. But I plan on reading the series straight through soon!

But what do you guys think of the books?
The T.V. Show?
Books vs. T.V. Series?

Laura Thomas (laurathomas) | 562 comments I have read eight of them so far. I was hooked immediately. I started the T.V. series first and loved it so much I bought the books. I like the books more because you get inside their heads and there is much more detail. I will continue with both until done.

NayNay The T.V. Show - well what I like about the show is each season is only one book, they don't try to cram ao much in 10 episodes. Also Alexander Skarsgård (plays Eric) my such eye candy how can you not watch.

The Books - I always like the books better than the T.V/movie, you get so much more from the book, the characters are better developed and I like using my imagination.

Books vs. T.V. Series - they have to condense and leave out a lot of stuff in the T.V. series, so the books will ALWAYS be better. Or they always seem to add things, like a whole new character (Jessica), Jason during "V" (doesn't happen in the book), Tara and Lafayette get alot more T.V. time.

Tammy | 291 comments I love the T.V. show...I don't like the books. I only read the first one, but I had to force myself to finish it. This is probably the only case where I don't prefer the book.

I love the books

The T.V. Show?

I absolutely hate it.

Books vs. T.V. Series?

I have read the books and I am currently trying to finish the series. I hate the tv show because of a

number of reasons:

1. They make Sookie out to be a whore. Yes she has sex with 3 different men that I know of, but is not like she is Anita Blake and is screwing every thing that comes along on two legs.

2. They make Jason into a vamp blood snorting bible thumper. Jason was never like this in the books, NEVER.

3.They make Bill sire a child, this never happened either. If you go back and read the either first or
second book, (view spoiler).

4. They take away everything that Tara has succeeded in doing in her life. Yes background says that
she came from a poor ghetto life, but according to the fist book, she had brought herself out of the
ghetto and had made her life a success by being a buisness owner.

5. Tara and Sam never had a fling of any kind. They had a mutual respect for one another for making
something out of their lives.

6.They make Sam out to be a run away who's parents did not understand about him being a shape-shifter. In the book (view spoiler).

So this just goes to show that HBO or what ever channel True Blood is on, just likes to have horny
characters and soap opera dialog.

Irene (raenne) I've read the first three books and I absolutely love them! I've tried the tv show too, but I really dislike Anna Paquin, so I stopped watching it after s1.

I like how the books are more mature than most vampire-books these days :)

witchyreader13, (witchyreader13) I absolutely love these books and I also love the tv show, but only because I won't compare it to the books. It's completely different, with only vague storyline similarities. I've read the first 3 books and they were so much fun, I can't wait to read the rest!
