I just finished "Big Brother" by Lionel Shriver. I thought "We Need To Talk About Kevin" was extremely moving and though provoking, so I was looking forward to this book. I am very frustrated. I won't say anymore in case some of you are thinking of reading it.

I have the Husbands Secret, haven't read yet-currently reading Ann Rule's book Practice to Deceive (full length book). I will look into The Kitchen House and wait to see what you thought about Husbands Secret.
I'm reading Emma by Jane Austen. Emma is a stuck-up snobby girl but adorable at the same time. Cannot dislike her as some people do. Loved it so far.
I'm reading The 5th Wave. I literally cried myself to sleep last night because all of the nicknames and things in the first two parts are used in my family and it reminded me of my little siblings
The host AMAZING BOOK,so beutifull and deep and ahhh so good,I was not expecting this level of greatness SO exciting to see what gonna happen next.

Hi Vera,Do you know there are several books in the Anne of Green Gables series? All worth a read. Anne Shirley was my hero growing up. Another book with a strong young girl at its centre is The Secret Garden
I'm currently reading In One Person by John Irving. Though I feel it's not as strong as his masterpieces, The World According ToGarp and A Prayer For Owen Meany, it's lots of fun and very rude!

I'm hoping to get to it at some point this year!!
Hey there! Right now i'm almost done with: wild swans: three daughters of China. It has not The best style but it I do recommend it if there is interest in history, it gives a lot of details on one of china's historical periods and i must confess that it has helped me to understand a lot that country and its people.
Julie wrote: "I'm currently in the middle of "White Teeth" by Zadie Smith!"Have you read On Beauty? That was really good, too. :)

Also LM Montgomery wrote a series of three books about Emily of New Moon. It's another story about a Canadian orphan. It's always held a special place in my heart. I read those books to pieces when I was younger.
I am currently reading A Dance With Dragons by George R. R. Martin and West of Eden by Harry Harrison. Not far enough into either to comment on them yet. I just finished Mortal Lock, a collection of short stories by Andrew Vachss. It was interesting, futuristic. I would give it three stars but wouldn't recommend it unless you are truly into alternate future stories.
Martin Eden by London. It just great and I am falling deeper in love with it page by page.
I read this week "A hearbeat away" by Harry Kraus, a extraordinary christian medical novel. Does anybody know something similar?
A Classic: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. To be honest it does prove to be a great book even though i've watched the movie before
I just finished a book by a up-and-coming author from Austin, TX, Toni Carr Haas. ---Seasonings: Sweet Tears and Saffron---
Set in southern Louisiana. Total brain candy.
It is available for FREE on Amazon-Kindle until the 15th!

I just finished "Never Let Me Go," and I started "Outlander," (totally jumping on that bandwagon). Also I started an anthology of stories called "Carniepunk" I spend a lot of time commuting and sometimes I forget my book at home so use the kindle app on my phone.
Currently reading 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. It's a slow-burner, and little has happened so far, but I am enjoying it, which is unlike me because I usually only ever read fast paced books.
I just finished "The Mockingbird Next Door". It's about a journalist that moves next door to Harper Lee and how they become friends.
Marya wrote: "I just finished "The Mockingbird Next Door". It's about a journalist that moves next door to Harper Lee and how they become friends."How was it Marya? I really enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird.
Hello All I just joined the group. I have discovered Free Audiobooks to listen to online, via You Tube, so I am currently listening to James Patterson Womens Murder Club #3 (cant remember the title), and at home I am reading The Search by Nora Roberts. I usually read one light fluff book in between others in a series. Just to relax the brain.Hope to hear of some great 5 stars on here.
Hi, my name is Andrea Hintz and I am the author of The Tesoro Series! The first book was recently released, and the second book will be coming soon. It is a treasure hunting book series and has had all five star reviews on Goodreads so far! Here is some information about the first book!Tesoro: Secrets of the Hidden Treasure (Volume 1) by Andrea Hintz
What would you do if your wild, thrill-seeking cousin who is known for deceiving you into going on disastrous road trips and “disadventures” asked you for a ride? Daphne Bleau (that’s right, like the color) is not the kind to be tricked easily. She’s conservative, boring, and has a tremendous fear of trying anything new and exciting. She’s also brilliant, but her consideration and concern for her mischievous cousin causes her to fall for another one of her cousin’s antics. But this time, her cousin is caught up in something different . . . The Tesoro project is one that requires solving difficult riddles and puzzles in order to track down artifacts left behind by a dangerous pirate group known as Tesoro who lived back in the late 1600s. What starts off as more of a leisure activity ultimately takes over and seems to permanently captivate whoever joins in on the search, making the people involved take extreme measures to stay ahead of each other. The clues start off simple, and gradually become more dangerous. By the end, their lives are at stake. To make matters more complicated, Daphne and her teammates have run into an uncle who has been almost completely absent for the past fifteen years. Her family has been secretive of the reasoning behind his whereabouts. The story begins in the beautiful Hamptons and unexpectedly transitions to Rome, Italy. Throughout, there are flashbacks focusing on the story of Johnny Higgins; a rebellious, teenaged pirate who has been trapped in the Tesoro crew for years. His attempts to escape have failed him, and he feels as though he is living in a world not his own.

If you are looking for a mind bending, puzzle read try The Eyre Affair: A Thursday Next Novel by Jasper Fforde. A world of time travel, cloning and characters kidnapped from the classic. The virtual police must solve this mystery to prevent literary disaster. A fun, interesting read.Jasper Fforde
Linda: I am reading a book called Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin. It was nominated for an Edgar Award. It takes place in Mississippi and it revolves around a crime committed in 1982 and another crime in th present day. It is very well written and has catchy dialogue
I just flew through Amanda Lee's Wicked Witches of the Midwest series. All five are light, funny, mystery and romance. A loving family of 3 cousins, 3 mother's who run The Overlook Inn. The tormentor in each book is Aunt Tillie who everyone listens to no one and everyone wants to kill her at least once a week.If your looking for something not to serious and fun while working on your tan give these a read. Enjoy
