Marie | 273 comments Hi! I need your help. A while back I read a book at the library and now I can't find it. I keep thinking the cover would make me remember which it was but I can't. I don't remember much, I'm sorry. The hero falls in love with a woman and the situation is somewhat scandalous. There is ONE memorable scene that I think anyone would remember. The hero is in a room with the woman and her relatives (male relatives: maybe brothers) and he is desperate to marry her because he's in love. So he demands marriage because SHE compromised HIM. I think it might have had something to do with her making a fool of him and that RUINED his REPUTATION. It was a very memorable scene and I hope that whoever read it can find the title of the book for me.

Sue Elleker | 1054 comments One of Julia Quinn's historical romances has a bit like this, butI can't remember which one.

Marie | 273 comments I already know it's not a Bridgerton or Smith-Smythe Quartet book of hers.

Ashley | 13 comments Splendid by Julia Quinn has a bit like that.
SPOILER if anyone hasn't read it but the man and woman are sneaking back into the girls home in the morning and the guy shouts out 'I insist you make her marry me' to the aunt and uncle. She'd already proposed to him the week before which is why he insisted and kind of shamed him as well.

Marie | 273 comments not that one either. it sound good though.
