Renee E Well, Nina, have you read it yet and did you like it?

What did you like or not like about it?

Shaye Nina wrote: "There's a sequel???!!!"

How can there be a sequel. Everybody, including the dog, dies!

Dramapuppy Zia. I think it's about her daughter. I am NOT reading it, though.

Melinda Brasher I really liked it when I was younger. Read it again as an adult and loved it even more.

Abby C. I can read this book over and over and over and over again (if I wanted to.) This is an amazingly written book: DEFINITELY one of my favorites!

Bamboo T Loved it.

Jennifer read it when I was quite young. 5th or 6th grade, I remember crying through the whole thing.
I don't know about how much it would get to me now, but at the time it was a moving experience.

Izzy My teacher read it to the class a while back. I read it again later. I love this book! One of those all gender and age friendly books.

message 113: by Amina (new) - rated it 2 stars

Amina my teacher read it out loud in 4th grade. it wasn't that good (maybe its because my teacher read it, she and a huge accent back then)

message 114: by Reagan (new) - rated it 5 stars

Reagan I loved this book while I first read it at a young age and thought it was depressing until I read it again in the fifth grade.

In 4th grade, my teacher read this book to the class and it was one of the two books that led me to my love of books & reading. I loved this book so much, that I purchased a copy and read it to both of my children when they were younger. I'm happy to say that both of them love the book as well. I will always hold fond memories of this book.

I am usually into more of Percy Jackson and Harry Potter but this book is sooooo one of my faves.

message 117: by P.I. (new) - rated it 5 stars

P.I. I read this book and The Witch of Blackbird Pond and loved them both, but then I was a voracious reader and pretty much everything I read left some impression on me, lol! One of the lines that always stuck with me was when Karana was trying to make a weapon saying (paraphrased) "I'd watched my father do it many times but not with an eye to doing it myself" -- that line taught me to ask questions, make people show me step by step how to do things, regardless what it was, lol again! Other books in this vein of children's classics for me to love were "Black Beauty" (where I learned FPPOV), "King of the Wind", "Misty of Chincoteague" and "Stormy, Misty's Foal." I guess I liked horses. BB and KOTW fed my obsession with historical fiction.
