Jay pricked her ears, darting ahead and almost running headlong into Anya. She yelped and jumped away, feeling the cold touch her skin through her thick coat.

Anya shrank back from the fire in fear, nearly knocking into Daniel in her eagerness to escape from the flames in Jay's hand

Daniel finally climbed off the wolf with a proud huff and shifted. "Now you belong to me." He growled to her before going to sit by Maribel and fill her in on the knowledge of Alis' actions while he'd been gone.

Anya relaxed when Daniel left to go by Maribel and the temperatures around her slowly rose to normal, the wind and snow stopping
