Yea sometimes you have to look by publisher, as they don't always show by new :(

message 103: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith I know, I just haven't been doing a suitably extensive publisher search. It's really annoying.

message 104: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Ok, so I didn't get any of the Bloomsbury titles (region restrictions, sigh...) but I did get The Passage, yay!

message 105: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Grove/Atlantic has some new titles available for request, for those doing MishMash, it's worth noting that they'll be published on 8 January 2012. http://www.netgalley.com/index2.php?m...

Lauren Smith Some new stuff from Strange Chemistry:

Pantomime by Laura Lam The Mad Scientist’s Daughter by Cassandra Rose Clarke

The Pantomime cover is just putting me off. I really like the cover for The Mad Scientist's Daughter, but I'm not sure if I want to read it. Already have a pile of February publications as well.

Ok what is going on!

I have 5 approved and 22 feedback on my netgalley (I know it doesn't all show because of the new site)

But when I went to put in my life of pi review I see that only those 5 approved books are there.

What about my previous approved books? Or my old archived reviews? It is ALL gone.

All I have is the recent 5 approved books and the 3 pending.

Nothing else, not 1 archived review or anything?

message 114: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
By Older or Archived Items

I have 5 items. 2 are of the 5 approved ones and the other 3 are ones I never got approved for...

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
Now that I put my Life of Pi one in I have:
5 approved and 23 feedback

And by archived it is just Life of Pi...

Anyone else loose everything?

message 116: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Lol, totally confused right now, but let me go and have a look on the site and see if I can help you out. I don't think I lost anything, but the new system is a bit confusing.

message 117: by Lu (new)

Lu | 12672 comments Mod
I have definitley lost it all. I checked about 10 days ago or so and everything was still there. So I know how to find it all, but nothing. I see other people have complained on Netgalley's facebook page about the same thing.

message 118: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith Oh, ok, that's bad then. Have you emailed the tech team?

LoL - thank you :)

message 127: by Chrizette (new)

Chrizette | 906 comments I am finding the new NetGalley extremely difficult to navigate. Is it just me? Am I just being stupid? I am sure I am missing something . . .

message 128: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Smith What's the problem? Do you mean searching for books or on your profile? I like the new layout for searching for titles, but I feel that the way they've organised your profile is counter-intuitive and extremely annoying now.

message 129: by Chrizette (new)

Chrizette | 906 comments Yes, it is the dashboard that throws me, Lauren. I can't seem to find anything. Just going to leave it for a hour or so and try again. When I am annoyed, I just get impatient . . .

message 130: by Lauren (last edited Feb 01, 2013 11:55PM) (new)

Lauren Smith It is very stupid. I don't know if this will help, but here's how I think it works:

Clicking on "Dashboard" will just take you to an overview of the latest stuff - requests that have been approved but that you haven't viewed/downloaded; the titles you last downloaded; and 3 or 4 of your pending requests.

If you want to see all your books, you have to click on "Activity" but you can't see them all at once.

You are automatically shown the list of "Newly Approved" titles that you haven't viewed. Since I click through to these on my Dashboard, there's never anything in this list.

You have to use the drop-down menu and change it from Newly Approved to "Currently Pending", "Recently Downloaded" or "Older and Archived Items". "Recently Downloaded" will show you what you've downloaded in the last 6 months. "Older and Archived Items" will give you access to everything else, including your pending items, I think.

If you're reading a book or have read it and want to add your review, click on the "Add to Shelf" button next to the book. When you click on "Shelf' you will see those titles there. I think they made that feature to give you quick access to the books you're currently working on or have finished with, but again, it's counter-intuitive. I mean, I consider ALL the books to be on my "Shelf".

Anyway, I found it easy enough to get used to once I'd played around, but it's still annoying, unfortunately I hope you manage to get it sorted!

message 131: by Chrizette (new)

Chrizette | 906 comments Thank you so much for this, Lauren. I will take your notes one paragraph at a time and I am sure I will work it out.

Just seems that it worked so much easier before. On the other hand, when I get used to it, I might change my mind.

Nice. I'll have to wait for the actual release since I ordered the limited edition hardcover. Reading it beforehand will pretty much moot the experience of getting the print version.
