For those who use NetGalley, let other users know about interesting updates, auto-approved titles, or even just the book you just requested or received.

What was the request for and who was the publisher?
I haven't had denied requests, just ones that seems to have been ignored.

It was Year Zero: A Novel, published by Del Ray/Spectra, which falls under Random House. I checked their request criteria, and apparently you need a blog that's updated daily or almost daily, plus you have to provide loads of stats from your blog, twitter feed, and facebook page, so it's no mystery to me why I didn't get the book. Best to avoid Random House for now.I've got a 2 or 3 ignored ones too. And one that got approved AFTER the book was archived, so I had to decline the review.
I'm very new to this site, but since I'm a bookaholic and live in Cape Town, I will see if I can constructively participate when it comes to BOOKS!
I read a few when I started, but I don't check each one before I request. For the most part I stick to titles from a few publishers whose books I like - Little, Brown; Mulholland (who auto-approved me, yay!); Night Shade Books; and Orbit. I often request books from other publishers as well, but now I think I'll check their requirements first. I don't want more declines in my stats.
Sigh there is a happy birthday pic thing for Crusader in it too...
When I tried to send it last night after I didn't recieve it, it said I can't send again in one day.
I can try to send it again tonight, but then everyone might get double :(

Sounds like it must be a Goodreads glitch, so I don't think there's anything you can do, unless you want to contact tech support :(

That's so sweet you guys. Thanks.
It was a great day, but I was the only one that spoiled myself with books (most of which are still en route).
I'm now getting to the age where you start to dread coming birthdays... ;)

I know, I am not really looking forward to mine. Also when you get older and are single the waking up in the morning isn't that great. There is no one there to congratulate you or surprise you with presents or having decorated the house or anything and it feels like any other day.
If you were ever interested in reading the Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer, books 1 and 2 are being released in a special edition, and review copies are available to 'read now' on NetGalley: http://www.netgalley.com/PopupHandler...
The final book is coming out in July 2012.
I think this one's really cool: http://www.netgalley.com/PopupHandler...It's a Russian sci fi novel that's been out of print in the USA for 30 years. It was the basis for the Andrei Tarkovsky movie Stalker, which I've been meaning to watch for a long time. I didn't know it was based on a book, but this is a good chance to check them both out.

Might as well get it, I have to read the second one for a challenge. Thanks :)

Don't bother. The publisher denied my request since they don't have distribution rights outside the US.

It'll all be "Read Now" and available for that month only.
How is that Kindle app working out for you by the way? Do you get to keep the books permanently, or do they expire?
How do you get an email address for the Kindle app? I've got it on my phone, but can't find any email address to use for Netgalley?
Lu wrote: "You register it on your amazon account
It will give you one there :)"
Nope. Doesn't give me an option for it. I think they exclude Android apps for some reason.

To be able to register you need an actual Kindle. My Android and Kindle for PC shows up, but you don't have an option to register them.
You are using it on your iPad right? Amongst the completely disorganized help section I found a note that said the "Send-to-Kindle" function only works for the iPad apps at this stage.
