Olivia Harry Potter:)

message 204: by Michelle (last edited Feb 29, 2012 09:04PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Michelle Knox Just my opinion...but I think Harry Potter for the simple fact that it has that magical coming of age aspect. You get to see how Harry and the other characters grow and change over the years, their individual plights, and how they each deal with the circumstances that life hands them. Not to mention the kind of magic that J.K. Rowling weaved book after book just seemed to transcend generations, kids, and their parents....so amazing just to sum it up!

Lauren Wow that was really pretty and is totally true! :)

Rp_öttêr Yup.. Vry true..:p

message 207: by Romi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Romi 100% Harry Potter

Iroulito91 it's sooo HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!

message 209: by Audrey (new) - rated it 5 stars

Audrey Harry Potter because it is appropriate for all ages, unlike Twilight. You hear people talk about reading Harry Potter to their young children and to their aging parents. Twilight has mostly teenage fans, and it seems like the majority of them are girls.

message 210: by Minnie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Minnie Harry Potter hands down >_<

I applaud you!

Kristin One day I will have children & I am already looking forward to reading the lines out loud: "Chapter 1. The Boy Who Lived."

Can't say the same about Twilight.

message 213: by Lisa (new) - rated it 4 stars

Lisa Westerfield I think 'Harry Potter' novels will be taught in schools which will help them be remembered as well as giving them respectablity. I think the 'Twilight' series might be weighed down by its narrative happening in a particular place in history (much as many novel series aimed at the young adult market are).

message 214: by Lauren (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lauren Pretty sure everyone will have forgotten about twilight in like five years. Harry Potter has left a legacy that will live on for a very long time :)

We studied 4 novels in my sixth grade English class: Where the Red Fern Grows, Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, and two others I will never remember. This was before the first movie was made & Harry Potter fandom exploded in the U.S. So you are very correct.

message 216: by Gaurav (new) - rated it 3 stars

Gaurav Sharma Harry Potter .... No Doubt ...

message 217: by Manami (new)

Manami HARRY POTTER!!!!!!

Danielle Harry Potter...twilight wouldn't be as well known if it weren't for the movies...but it will still be remembered i think but definetly harry potter

message 219: by Gouri (last edited Mar 02, 2012 11:20PM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gouri harry potter of course!twilight series became famous because of the movies.but harry potter became famous because of the books!

message 220: by Audrey (new) - rated it 5 stars

Audrey Harry Potter. 'Nuff said.

message 221: by Kat (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kat Harry Potter. No competition there.

message 222: by [deleted user] (new)

I think Harry Potter is defiantly a classic, but when we like grow up, who knows? The Twilight series might be just like the Harry Potter series! I mean the Twilight series could be a classic later also, so I guess both...

message 223: by Kristi (new) - rated it 4 stars

Kristi The Harry Potter series is imaginative and well-written. I believe it will be read by young and old for years to come.

message 224: by Ruby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ruby Both. Harry Potter for its brilliance, and Twilight for its despicableness.

message 225: by Ruby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ruby ...and actually, Stephen King said, "Harry Potter has earned his place next to Alice and Frodo."

TAKE THAT TWILIGHT.

Oh and the Twilight characters are so memorable too!

Edward for his stupidity
Bella for her stupidity
Jacob for his stupidity
Jasper for his stupidity
Elizabeth for his stupidity
Charlie for his stupidity

.....Oh wait....

Rp_öttêr oh... hahaha...:D even I don't know anything about them..:D ;)

message 230: by [deleted user] (new)

Both unfortunatly, Twilight sold it's books and became extremly popular extremly quickly. I don't see why however, because it SUCKS!! Anyway...Harry Potter was very famous and was the first book series to become a complete series of movies. BECAUSE IT'S AMAZING!!

message 231: by Ruby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Same! High five! *slap*

message 232: by Lauren (last edited Mar 04, 2012 08:45AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Lauren Harry Potter will definitely be the first one to go down in (the good) history. It has much more creativity and depth to it, while Twilight is more of a.... "just book"? But I also think that The Hunger Games trilogy is getting so popular that it will be the next great book. I'm guessing it will go down in history before Twilight and after Harry Potter.

message 233: by Gouri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gouri harry potter.

message 234: by Cassie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cassie HARRY POTTER, twilight will probably be forgotten in like 5 years after the last movie comes out

message 235: by Cassie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cassie harry potter hands down, twilight will be forgotten in like 5 years

message 236: by Gouri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gouri ur right.twilight became famous because of d movies.but harry potter movies were made because of the popularity the books gained!

message 237: by Ruby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ruby Okay...I am about to put out a really serious question: Do you think Stephanie Meyer hired a ghost writer? This might be just my prejudice, but...I dunno...

message 238: by Gouri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gouri i think so!!twilight just doesn't make sense.a whiny and stupid girl is loved by a werewolf and a vampire.all of them love twilight because of robert pattinson and taylor lautner...if she hired one,he is stupid.

message 239: by Ruby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Ruby Right! And also, they are all really, really long and written so...DESCRIPTEVELY (sp?) (emphasis)

message 240: by Gouri (new) - rated it 5 stars

Gouri for example it says what bella wore, what bella likes, how bella whines who cares about bella.those stupid guys are fighting with each other for her????when there are a zillion girls in the world!!!!!!!!!!

Danielle exactually...y just her? but that is what makes the story up and it is a STORY so anything can be possible

message 242: by Jim (new) - rated it 4 stars

Jim Harry Potter is one of the best selling book series of all time and has been translated into over 60 languages. It has transcended genres and audiences so virtually everyone reads it. Twilight has a strong following from a specific core group of fans but has not transcended to the diversity and extent that Harry Potter has.

message 243: by Rachel (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rachel umm of course HARRY POTTER!!! if someone does happen to remember twilight it will be to laugh at it or it will be known as a mistake of a book.

I watched half the movie and almost barfed. I can't imagine what it would be like reading a whole book full of Bella... or series for that matter.

message 245: by Merel (new) - rated it 5 stars

Merel Harry Potter. Just like Dahl.

message 246: by [deleted user] (new)

Harry Potter! JK Rowling is a legend and a genius for her imagination and the way she ties everything together. :) 7 books, 8 movies. Who won't remember that? JK Rowling told a better love story in a few minutes with Snape in The Dealthy Hallows than Meyers did in 4 books!! The movies and the 3 last books of the Twilight saga ruined it for me. Twilight should've been one book. Not a whole saga!! HARRY POTTER!!! woop woop!

message 247: by Cookie (new) - rated it 5 stars

Cookie Harry Potter now has it's own amusement park. It is gong to be pretty hard for people to forget. For me, Harry Potter plays a large part in my childhood. And for that, I thank J.K. Rowling for genius ability to create a brand new world that can take away all your other worries.

With Twilight I was obsessed with it while I was reading and maybe a couple months after...but now I'm kinda over it.

message 248: by Sarah (new) - rated it 5 stars

Sarah Sonia wrote: "Harry Potter for sure, it's incredible in all ways. Twilight will only be remembered for being awful."

The paranormal vampire stuff will go out in a couple of years, but the Harry Potter type of fantasy will remain forever.
Sonia's right, Twilight is only going to be remembered for being that horrible series that was a fad for 2 weeks. Harry Potter is going to go down in history as a series that many millions of people adored. It will continue to be loved for ages and ages.

Danielle agreed :)

Michelle Knox Is there really any comparison? HP will go down as a classic, timeless literary work, way before Twilight breaks the surface of peoples memories ten years from now. Just my opinion though.
