Rea Hoi, I'm Rea.

I'm a Brit expat. I'm Yorkshire born and bred but I left Britain 10.5 years ago when I was 13 and grew up in the French Alps. I live in the Netherlands now with a computer nerd, a bossy bunny and two rats that are obsessed with chocolate and vodka.

I love Canavan's style. I mean, her books are often a bit slow but they never fail to keep me glued. I first discovered her books during the onset of MMO-addictionitis (horrible disease btw) and she broke it for the time it took me to zip through The Black Magician trilogy!

I couldn't say which of Canavan's books is my favourite. It's been a while since I read most of them but in The Age of Five but I really liked the detailed world there so possibly Voice of the Gods.

Other faves include The Lady Julia Grey Bundle, Mistress of Rome, The Painted Man, Immortal Beloved and more recently Under the Never Sky among others.

I love Trudi Canavan, so I'm very happy to be here, part of the group! :)

Hi Rea, Welcome to the group!

And the hoi kinda tipped off that you lived in the netherlands ;)
I'm a dutchy myself!

Rea Thanks Renée!

Haha, I picked up hoi and eui well before coming here. I like the sound of them both!
I don't tend to meet many other Dutchies ? pseudo-Dutchies on here. Very cool to be in such a small group with one! =D

Becky | 405 comments ooh Yorkshire, no wonder you left! (sorry from the south of England, its deep in bred in me that south i best :D)

message 5: by Rea (new)

Rea Haha, I'm actually quite fond of Yorkshire, though I'd never go back there. Then again, I'd never move back to the UK in general. It's nice from a distance, as a memory!

message 6: by Alison (new)

Alison (ali_w) I'm from Yorkshire. Born and bred. There's nothing wrong with the north. Some of the most beautiful places in the country are in Yorkshrie.

(Just wanted to add that in there. Gotta stick up for your birthplace when its being bashed!)

message 7: by Becky (new)

Becky | 405 comments haha! just so long as its not compulsory because I couldn't care less if my birth place got wiped out by a nuclear bomb! :) there are some beautiful places in Yorkshire but up north I prefer the Lake District to the Yorkshire Dales

message 8: by Alison (new)

Alison (ali_w) yeah the Lake District is pretty too.

I think I would be very sad if Yorkshire was wiped out... lol. It's particularly nice in York, though that's North Yorkshire and I'm from South Yorkshire :)

Becky | 405 comments Nothing can beat Devon though!

message 10: by Alison (new)

Alison (ali_w) lol to each his own then. I went there for a week's holiday once as my ex wouldn't fly abroad. It was ok but it cost more money to go to Devon for one week than it did to go to Spain for 2 weeks. And it rained. lol

message 11: by Becky (new)

Becky | 405 comments lol, i lived there for a while, and as for raining, it doesn't rain as much as it does here in Wales!

message 12: by Alison (new)

Alison (ali_w) oh yeah Wales can get a bit wet and windy! I love Wales though. We used to have a holiday home on Anglesey and we would go 2 or 3 times a year and I kinda associate my whole childhood with those holidays... They were the best!
