Welcome & 1/2 the fun of being a Good Reads Member is that your "to read" list grows exponentially - isn't that the biggest benefit of being a member and acquiring friends, reading reviews/opinions and seeing what other people read? Have a good day and happy page flipping to you always! :-)

My favorite fantasy authors are currently Tolkien, Martin, Sanderson and Michael J. Sullivan, although I will read just about everything. My current favorite series has to be Sullivan's Riyria books.
Hi Jenn, welcome to the Fantasy Book Club.
Have you read
and
? It's the last of the The Highwayman series.
Have you read

I'm from the Netherlands and been a fan of fantasy since before I knew the genre had a name.
Favorite writers, still have a soft spot for Tolkien for introducing me to fantasy, and I have continued to enjoy Hobb's books.
Jordan's another favorite, though I gave up around book eight. Was really looking forward to the new series he had planned before he passed away far too soon.
I'm hoping that this group can expose me to some new stories.

If you read WoT through book 8 you could probably get the last volume and read it. The first half of the book (or maybe a little more) will catch you up enough.

I've been told that and I think I'll do that. Have to know how it ends.

Hi!
I have been a reader for many years but my first and greatest love has always been fantasy. Some of my favorites are Lord of the Rings, A Song of Ice and Fire, Mistborn, and probably many many more.
Glad to be here. :)

Justin in the Airforce currently in south Dakota. I guess I don't really have any favorites and I'll read just about anything but fantasy is always my fall back. hooked after harry potter and eragon.

I'm Nadia and i'm from Belgium. I've been a book lover since my childhood. My first fantasy was Harry Potter by J.K.Rowling. I started reading it mostly because of the uproar and all the talks that the story generated. And curious as i am, i had to know what was the story about. So here's how i feel in love with fantasy stories.
However due to some circomstances, i wasn't able to keep on reading as much as i wanted to. But fortunatly, since last year i made my come back to the fantasy world !!!!
I've read a few book since then. But i don't know what to read next, seeing as there's a large choice. So i hope by coming here, have good advices and discover lots of stories and authors.
Hi Teri and Justin, welcome to the Fantasy Book Club.
Hi Nadia, welcome to the Fantasy Book Club.

I've loved Fantasy for as long as I can remember, and I hope to participate in some discussions here!
Hi Felicity, welcome to the Fantasy Book Club.

I'm Kae from the Pacific Northwest of the US. :)
I love epic fantasies, and have recently been addicted to the Mistborn Trilogy Boxed Set and The Wise Man's Fear.
I'm currently reading First Lord's Fury.
I really need some new great series' to get addicted to!

All my friends know the first thing I'll recommend is The Deed of Paksenarrion (the trilogy). One of my all time favorites.
Also if you haven't tried them the standbys The Hobbit, or There and Back Again and The Lord of the Rings are books not to miss.
I'm sure you'll get lots of recommendations...we love to get people's "to be read lists" too long to ever finish, LOL.
Hi Kaela, welcome to the Fantasy Book Club.
Try The Conclave of Shadows by Raymund E. Feist.(3 book series)or The Belgariad by David Eddings(5 book series). The Mallorean by David Eddings(5 book series).

Hi Kae and welcome to the group!
Adrian Tchaikovsky's Shadows of the Apt series might be interesting for you, starting with Empire in Black and Gold.
Of course, The Wheel of Time series, started by the late Robert Jordan and finished by Brandon Sanderson should be mentioned regarding epic series. It starts with The Eye of the World.
Another great author is Robin Hobb. Her main series is the Elderlings, which contains three trilogies and one quadrology to date.
The first trilogy starts with Assassin's Apprentice.
Hope there's something in here for you. Enjoy reading and the group! :)
