started this one today and am 105 pages in. Had a bit of a strugle in the beginning of the book with the language. The recap is quite formally written which is fine but the first pages it felt like he was having trouble letting it go and settle in his normal "relaxed" style. It started to get on my nerves but then it ended.

There is a lot of stuff going on, some of which feels like details but since the books is 850 pages so who knows how it will connect with the story later on.

I am on page 517.
I am very ambiguous about this book so far. If I pick it up I do want to keep reading but once I put it down I don't have the urge to start reading again.
There is a lot of drama going on and it feels like there is too much drama. It feels to contrived at parts.
Also it feels to much like a story and I can't seem to loose myself in the pages.

Naz (nazz) I very nearly hated this book. There was a whole lot of words and very little actually happening. Not to mention the huge build up to the meeting of Eragon and Galbatorix which was also unimpressive. I mean the dude spontaneously combusts because he's emotionally overwhelmed by the wrongness of his actions??

Always in the other books I felt people were been slightly unfair about their comments on his borrowing or coping from other Authors. The story was interesting enough for me to ignore it, this time round I wanted to shake him.

I think Christopher just stopped caring about us because in comparison to the first two books of the series the last two seem poorly written and just... boring. Why could he not have shortened and combined the last two books? It would possibly been better had he done that.

Ok maybe I'm been slightly harsh on the guy but I still think he could have done so much better and without the stealing of everything from Star Wars, Tolkien, Eddings and Pullman to Dr. Seuss!

No you're not harsh. I feel the same.
I liked the series. It wasn't something to recommend to friends but still it was an enjoyable read. But due to the last book I might even tell friends not to read it.
The explosion of Galbatorix feels like a major cop out. Like they had to trick the guy into killing himself because they couldn't defeat him in an honest fight.
I also complained about him talking and talking. There is a lot of stuff going on without it being relevant. A lot of details that could have been skipped and aren't necessary at all. And why oh why is nothing going as they want it to go.
Also the tying up of loose ends got on my nerves especially since there are still some that I think of well and how about that and in my mind they are the more important ones.
Normally when an author ends a series I am curious to see what the next book is going to be and what they come up next, but this time I don't even want to know.
I am really dissapointed!
