I'm only reading 2 books now (and 1 is my "walking" audiobook), so I think I'll start a couple more today. Like many of you, I like to have several going at the same time.

Day 1
Hold Me If You Can page 124 - 310

I'm really enjoying it, thought it seemed to slow down towards the middle. I really enjoy the humor. My favorite part so far was the part where David says, "we need a cross, some holy water..Oh! Get the picture of Jesus! We'll rub it on her!"
Yes, it's more than a bit strange, but I'm still having a lot of fun with it. I only have like 30 pages left. How did you find it?

These Read-a-thons and Mini-Challenges really help me clear up my stacks, though, which is one of the many reasons I just love them!
Happy Reading!

Hahaha....I agree......love those slutty books throwing themselves around......and I must say that I don't move out of their way, either!

Day 1
Hold Me If You Can page 124 - 310
186 pages
I'm really enjoying it, thought it..."
I liked the first half of the book. By the last 100 or so pages I was just waiting for it to end. I think that it was probably better the way it was originally published. Online, few chapters every once in a while. Probably made you want to read it more. I think the movie is supposed to be released this year.
i love the idea of slutty books...unfortunately, the inner slut in mine has decided she doesn't want to make an appearance...none of them are going OMG you HAVE to read me :(

I do the same thing Nancy and my family ask Mr how I can read more than one book at a time. I think it is the same thing as watching more than one show in a day.
I also love these challenges and read-a-thon for the same reasons.

Read-a-thon books completed:
1. The French Gardener by Santa Montefiore (1/21/12) - 416p.
2. The Kid Who Climbed Everest by Bear Grylls (1/21/12) - 312p.
3. I Am Half-Sick of Shadows by Alan Bradley (1/22/12) - 497p.
4. Joanne's Fluke's Lake Eden Cookbook by Joanne Fluke (1/24/12) - 320p.
I took a break from fiction today and read the Lake Eden Cookbook, which is awesome, because it intertwines recipes with the characters and plot from Fluke's Lake Eden novels. Now I will have to get busy and actually make all the recipes I just read through, because I am drooling over this book! Some very funny things in it - I put more details in my review on my 'Read' shelf if anybody is interested.
Other pages read thus far:
The Orphan Master's Son - 115p.
Brava, Valentine - 162p.
Swamplandia - 22p.
Watermelon - 86p.
The Tree of Red Stars - 31p.
Crunch Time - 41p.
Sinjin - 35p.
Total pages so far: 2,037 pages
These totals will change because I am going to read more yet tonight before bed.

Meghan, how are you liking 1Q84? Another group I'm in is reading it next month, but since I didn't care for Kafka on the Shore (the only Murakami I've read), I'm not sure if I want to try another by him.
Nancy, way to go on reaching 2000 pages!!

I still am not sure what I thought about Night Circus - I liked it, but I don't even know if I can describe why, since I generally don't care much for fantasy. As for Swamplandia, one of my students read it and has been after me to read it for several months. I saw him a few days ago, and I promised him that I would read it this week during the Read-a-thon. He really liked it. I'll see what I think since I have barely started it. I am getting more hooked on the Flavia de Luce one, so I will probably finish that one first.
