Why did I keep thinking of Ignite as I read that?
Patrick Duffy - an old actor in Dallas (or was it Dynasty?) and also in some bad TV series about a guy who could breathe underwater....Rumours about my authorship have been exaggerated ;)

I really can't imagine. No I REALLY can't imagine!
This is one I had to write under the title of "lost" and keep to less than 100 words!Lost
Phil scanned the road names through his manly shades as he continued his fifth circuit of the town. Three hours of driving had brought him no closer to his destination.
“GPS signal too low” the SatNav announced again. Switching it off, he threw it down next to the street map on the passenger seat, a map printed a decade ago and void of any reference to the street he sought.
He pulled over, defeated. He knew what he had to do. There was no other option now. Swallowing hard, he lowered the window and prepared to ask for directions...

Ha ha - enjoying the flash fiction!
Why did the Israelites spend 40 years in the wilderness?
Because Moses wouldn't ask for directions.

Another low-star Amazon review from, yes you guessed it, someone who never finished the book...http://www.amazon.com/Serpent-Glass-T...
I've found I'm pretty much between a rock and a hard place when it comes to pitching this novel. If I present it as a children's novel it fails to get across the fact that many adults like it, if I say it is an all-ages fantasy then some seem to think it's misleading.
Isn't it obvious that an all-ages fantasy would be something that would be geared toward confident readers who are quite young whilst also being, secondary perhaps, appealing (if not aimed) at adults?
Still, most people seem to "get it", thankfully!
I don't know how anyone can call your prose leaden (and I have read some that IS recently!)Speaking personally I also don't know how someone can have the brass neck to review a book s/he hasn't finished. I have plodded through some real sticky stuff in order to finish to and give a genuine review. People may not always agree with my opinions but they are alwasy based on a full book.
You naughty mermaid! You should read the one complaining about bad grammar and typos - it's the review with the bad grammar and typos! Written by someone in India (probably paid £5 to give a bad review and never even read it)

My short freebie ebook - a humorous retelling of four of the more well-known of the fairy tales collected by the Brothers Grimm - launched today...http://make-your-offer.com/ebook2.php...
The Brothers Grimm and Bearit Fairy Tales has now been added to the GR database. This means it can be reviewed ;)And/or you can leave a review / "like" it at:
http://make-your-offer.com/ebook2.php...
I'm not sure how it will do, and am not expecting ratings/feedback, because it's quite a trivial little thing - a short freebie to promote my real books ;)
If anyone's a Squidoo member then please vote for The Serpent in the Glass at http://www.squidoo.com/harry-potter-s... Scroll about half way down to find my book.
This is high ranked in Google, so will help me if voted up! Thank you!
Ah, an interview from Laura C:http://www.amazon.com/Serpent-Glass-T...
It's good to read that! :)
Do please click the "yes" under it! This is what potential readers need to see!

I've been interviewed on none other than LLBookReview!http://llbookreview.com/2012/05/an-in...
(I also drop a hint as to the nature of my next novel!)
Cricket bat wielding faerie?13 year old boy bowling fairies? Fairies in the outfield? Sorry, I don't know much about cricket...
Love your promo photo Darren. Have I ever mentioned that before?
Thanks, though I have been told that I should try smiling in my pics ;)There's no cricket, just the bat ;)
Hopefully the first draft will be done by next week, and the revision started.
Any kind, nice people out there to vote up my book here:http://www.goodreads.com/list/show/11...
:)
Thanks!
I owe a lot of people a sequel. I will start on it this year, after I have a couple of other projects out of the way ;)Btw, I'm also working on a new edition of The Serpent in the Glass SO if you have any comments for suggested changes, let me know ;)
That's pretty good Darren. As always when I see someone else's review I think, 'I wish I'd said that!'
TWO ANNOUNCEMENTS:A. The pre-release version of my new book will be ready this week for beta readers! It's a novella of around 25,000 words and an early YA fantasy. It's my first novella and also the first story I've ever written from the first-person POV. If you are interested in receiving an advanced review copy then I would ask the following:
1. Report back any content (grammar, typos, etc.), format or navigation issues
2. Give general feedback on the story
3. Reviews are greatly appreciated but not obligatory!
B. The Serpent in the Glass is currently undergoing a revision, chiefly to condense the early to middle part of the book. If you have any suggestions about anything related to the book then please do let me know. I will need feedback this week! Thank you!
