An okay read, quite the replica of a lot of YA books out these days, and though the concept is intriguing, the story falls flat too fast. A little too twilight-esque and hush hush for my liking. I still like the mystery of the secondary character Cam, so I will keep reading this series.

Is it strange that I cared for the secondary love birds Cole and Isabel, than I did for Sam and Clare? But the book was cute. I liked it enough to keep reading it.
Edit: I just called the heroine Clare, instead of Grace! LMFAO Tells you how much I care for her haha

How was this book? I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about it. Things like, it was really childish or just too YA. What did you like or dislike about it?

It is a bit strange, but I like it for the concept. The idea of using temperature for a werewolves transition is a really unique idea, but I think the conflict and dynamics between the two main characters is a little weak. I enjoyed it enough to finish it though, and I can understand why people think it's a little childish, because the author does have a tendency to talk down to her readers, making it feel a little too YA if you get what I mean.
The only thing I disliked about this book, is that Isabel and Cole aren't the main characters LOL This is really a book that you'll have to read to see what you think about it.

This is one of my favorite series! keep on reading!!!"
I kind of struggled through the first, and I don't know if it was because of the book, or the fact that I have been distracted lately. I will keep reading this story because I got the next two already, and I have major OCDness, so yeah haha

Gah! I'm in love with this book right now, I did not want this to end. The hero and heroine are so complex and easy to like, I found myself flying through this book, and disappointed that it ended. I want to read about this book FOURever. :P
That's my new word for Four, he is my FOURever hahaa! I'm so ridiculous right now, I think I drank too much silly air around me.
I recommend every one to read this!

Thanks to you, Star, I have gained an insane crush on Nykyrian! And found another series to devour. The world building and creativity is amazing, and I have this ultimate crush on Nemesis' sexy green eyes. :P
Oh did I mention Syn's personality is so hot, I would do things to him that I'm not allowed to state in public. haha

A unique world I'd hate to live in, but ultimately mind boggling at the same time. The fact that people are crammed into this isolated cube (not the right word for it, more like a...sanitised sewer living space that has levels and levels that separate people by class or by Government standards) or otherwise known as "Inside" with hundreds of other people occupying it, while your breathing air is scarce, makes my claustrophobic side cringe. Just the idea of everyone breathing in the next persons perspiration as they work in cramped (I wouldn't even really call it sanitised where the lowers live) place and the sounds of people "mating" is kind of cringe worthy, but the way Snyder wrote it made it seem so real. This book didn't even really need to rely on any action or romance. The world building was enough to carry me to the end. Just the fact that the heroine is strong-minded and focused made her pretty badass. She wasn't your typical Mary-sue, she had this air about her that made you want to root for her. Her idealism challenged her emotions, but her compassionate nature toward her friends contradicted that. I like that she was a risk taker, and was always up for a challenge.
This book gave me the weirdest dream I'd ever had after reading it. In my dream, I had just birthed this baby, and I woke up (in my dream) with someone masked taking the baby away. I asked where the person was taking it, but they didn't answer me. I spent my whole life (dream sequence wise) trying to look for my baby! Like WTF.
Of course, that dream was influenced by this story, because in Inside Out, when a Upper (almost like a privileged citizen aka Middle Class) has more than one baby, that baby is taken from the mother to live in a care facility to the lower levels to be raised as a scrub (a poor citizen that slave labours for the Uppers to live in better conditions) so the Uppers quarters doesn't get so crowded, not caring that the Lower levels space is already tight.

This book series is absolutely amazing and crazy hot! If you like Syn now, wait until you get to his book ;)

Double awesome! Now you have me too excited over reading it! Although, I have to get done with Ironside and Valiant by Holly Black before I get back into that series, because those are on loan. I have the League series on my shelves so they can wait (although I'm dying to keep reading them lol)

I ended up reading this book after Tithe (even knowing that it was a third in the series) because I knew that Valiant had different characters in it, so I took a chance and skipped it, and I'm glad I did. Ironside was a lot more steadier in the sense of plot and writing style. Everything made sense, and everything tied into it nicely. I got a tad hooked around 200 pages in, and I think this book was rather cutesy!

I'm not sure if this counts, but this author is a wattpad author that had her book published recently, but I bought it on kindle, so I thought I'd give it a try because of the premise. Cute, fast teen read and I decided to add it to my list. :):)

A touching story about love, loss and hope. In some parts, it was a little slow, but the end makes up for it. I loved Adam! Very fast read, but heartbreakingly all the more.

Oh my god! I loved this book so much! I've been missing PATCH since the day I closed the first book Hush Hush. I've long since developed this unhealthy crush on this dude, it's so not funny, but reading this book rekindled the fire haha! Totally one of my favourite YA books, and I can't wait to get my hand on the next. Don't worry, if you've read this, you'd want to strangle Nora, if not for the fact that she has Patch's lips--I mean heart at range, then for the fact that she makes the worst decisions ever, but it was a good read, and I kinda didn't want it to end. <3333

Leaving the best for last. I was glad I read this after Ironside, I don't think it was necessary of Holly Black to have this book numbered 2nd after Tithe. I found I connected with the characters more and empathized with them more having read this after Ironside. Loved the realistic situation of conflict weaved with supernatural. I think this book was my favourite of the three! :):)

Okay, I loved this book but I have to pose a question here... Did you feel while reading Crescendo that a whole new author was writing it? I mean I LOVED it- don't get me wrong- but the writing seemed so much more mature and the flow was perfect. If someone picked up Crescendo they wouldn't have been left in the dark because she seemed to sum up the other books and wrapped it in a nice shiny package with Crescendo! What do you think? I am in love with Patch too and there for awhile I was thinking that he was never going to tell her that it was him! Thank goodness it worked out;)

I agree and read them in the same order too!

Definitely. I kept thinking if I was reading from the same author, too. I mean, I had a hard time trying to remember what happened in the first book, because I read it a long time ago, let alone finding out it's the same author, but the subtle recaps in Crescendo kept me up to speed. It just goes to show how disciplined and focused Becca Fitzpatrick has gotten since her first book Hush Hush, and how much growth has gone into writing another book. She's definitely made a mark for herself since her first debut novel, and she obviously knew what she was doing when writing Crescendo. I agree, the prose is more mature, and I think that's what connected me to this book and why I praise it as being one of my favourite YA novels to date, because of this fact. There's nothing more I hate than reading a YA novel that is written in a way that the writer intends their audience to be stupid.
Thank God for Fitzpatrick! Oh and Patch! :P:P

I loved getting back into this series. There's nothing more I like than a nice steamy werewolf to drool over, although could I just say that there's not enough steamy moments, or werewolf moments in this book. I kept waiting for something to happen, and when it does, the situations is briefly brushed over, and I find myself frustrated over that fact. The scenes happen way too fast for me to process through them, because they're briefly dismissed, and next thing I'm like, "Huh, WTH just happened?" LOLOL

Thanks for recommending I keep at them, if you didn't I may have sent them back to my library and missed out on a good series! :):)

Oh yes, Patch;) So the books are Hush, Hush then Silence and then Crescendo, right? And then she is writting one more? I can't remember. I agree with everything you said too!

Hush Hush, Crescendo, then Silence. In that order, and yeah, there should be a fourth coming soon. :):)
Oh, well crap. I was talking about Silence then. The way she wrote that one is killer. Hehehe, sorry;) I did love Crescendo too though!

LOL, it is. And it's like reading a whole new book! Her writing style is great and if you hadn't read the first two, then you wouldn't miss out much in Silence but I wanted to scream at Patch there for awhile;) Let me know what you think after you read it.
PS: just so you know, I'll be impatiently waiting, hehe.

Just looked up the date/title of the last book Finale and it is set to be released 10-13-12! Way too long away!

Okay, so I admit, reading this book was like watching Titanic all over again. My favourite movie to date btw! Add a little supernatural, and it made for good reading. I'm a sucker for Historical Romance, and I loved the dynamics between Tess and Alec (even though I still had visions of Rose and Jack and their complicated love life, I liked it. :):)

LOL, I loved the vamp school thing and really loved that you didn't find out until later on in the first book- brilliant. However, I didn't like the way it ended- I'm too much of a romance to have liked it the way it ended. I'm gonna add a new discussion group here and we can chat it up more, but I wont get it up and running until this weekend;)

It isn't a classic Cassie Clare (say that ten times LOL) book unless it has Jace-wit, Simon-retorts, and twisted cliff hangers at the end. I loved the witty dialogue, the evil-can-evil twists, and this world, and can't forget Magnus!

Oh how I loved this book! I wish I could read it forever. It's a total gem, it's one of those rare red glasses amongst a sea of blue glass tears in the ocean that Sarah Ockler talks about in this book. That one gem you hope to find and discover, and once you do, you can't help but show it off, and tell people about it. That's what this book is, a red glass. The instant you open the book you are spell bounded, and pulled into a enchanted world of magic, and hope it never ends. Sarah Ockler has a way with words, and the magic of her prose jumps off the pages. A story of love, friendship, heartbreak, and finding that hope after it's been shattered to pieces.
A book I hope to read again for many summers.

I agree! I was really hoping for some R & R with the couple, but that is not Clare's style...unfortunately:(

I loved this book and recently found the sequel. I have to read it soon... And Adam was the perfect boyfriend but it's not a smooth ride in the sequel according to the blurb on the inside.

1. Bleeding Violet by Dia Reeves
This book is all kinds of crazy! o_O Though the premise is unique and intriguing, the rest is poorly executed and strange. Not a book I would recommend to any teen. The serious issues that are addressed in this book are taken lightly, with no consequences toward any of the characters actions. I'm quite baffled at why this book is categorized under the YA genre. Not a book I would let any teen read.
