Don Martinez (desertcoyote13) | 5 comments Currently, I'm working on the third Phantom Squadron book, "The Insurgent's Journal." Hopefully it'll be seeing print in March. The story takes my characters and situations forward 15 years, into a dystopic future where a dictator party runs the USA (now called the "New Empire of America") and has targeted supernaturals for extermination. The focal character of this book is Alanna Sharpe, the daughter of Ariel Vibria and Cole Sharpe who was born at the end of Dinétah Dragon. Now a teenager with her parents apparently captured (and/or killed) by the New Empire, she's searching for them while working to bring down the regime.

There's two more books planned after this one, both with tentative titles: "Alanna's Inferno" and "Eden Inviolate." It's my intention that these two books will conclude the Phantom Squadron series.

S. Cameron (sellecameron) | 6 comments I am currently working on my 4th novel called Turn It Off. It it a prequel to my first novel A Tragic Heart. I am currently trying to figure out when would be the best time to release my second novel Red which is the sequel to A Tragic Heart. I posted a sample of Turn It Off under my writings section of my profile. I am excited about releasing Red this year! The main character is very edgy and is a very tough girl!

I'm working on revisions after getting great and extensive beta suggestions. It will be the first YA I've published, although that's most of what I've written. I just never published any of them. This is the latest book I've written, and it's the first in a series, several of the later books having been written a few years ago and stashed away on my hard drive.

What type of YA stories do you write? Is it romance, edgy, or a mixture of many things? I'm a sucker for YA novels and I'm always interested in what others come up with.

It's edgy ya. The first one has zero romance, although there is sex (behind closed doors). It would fit in the family issues & poverty categories.

I actually wrote 3.5 novels for this series a few years ago, and in every book, they talk about their friend who had moved away the year before. When I went back and read them, I decided the friend needed her own book, and so this one was born.

Sounds awesome! I love edgy YA books the most. I know what it's like when you write a series and it's hard to let go. The characters become real and you start to see how each of them need their own story. Sounds great!
