And that's nothing compared to how much it helped me, though having my friend listen and talk me through things was also a big help.
Other people's mileage may vary, but to me it works. My husband's pretty skeptical about it too, but he likes reading about it; he just doesn't believe in it.
And yeah... writing's an escape for me, and I like to escape. LOL.

Sounds cool and I'll go for anything that works. I'm glad if something helped you.
Writing is my escape too and I'm out there orbiting with you. Lots of escape velocity. :)
My urban fantasy series Reality Shift is about Shanna Bailey and Jonah Leighton, two teenagers who use skills such as energy healing and channeling to banish demons, send malevolent dead spirits to the other side, and prevent our universe from being vaporized. It's also about Shanna's journey from being bullied at school and abused at home to finding a safe place to live and learning to stand up for herself.
Shanna is probably the most autobiographical character I've ever written. While I haven't dealt with everything she does, a lot of her life is based on mine, and her journey is based on something I went through when I was quite a bit older than a teenager. I chose to write this series about and for teens because I wanted teenagers to see that they could make a difference in their own lives.
Jonah is based on a close friend I had several years ago, who actually did practice energy healing, channeling, and yoga and taught me some of the skills. He also helped me heal from some of the things I'd experienced in my life and helped me leave an abusive situation.
Books one through five in the series are available now from Jupiter Gardens Press. Book six will be available in June from Featherweight Press. There are ten books total; the rest will be released from Featherweight over the next couple-few years.
Any questions or comments about the series, this is the place.
