message 51: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "You just want me to kiss you!" I teased, and before i could talk myself out if, i gently turned her towards me and kissed her full on the lips.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Her eyes widened with surprise but she softly kissed him back before pulling away. "Your girlfriend's not going to be very happy with you y'know," she avoided looking at him, she could feel her face starting to heat up

message 53: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "I guess she must be pretty pissed off by now, right?" I laugh, thinking 'I don't have one!' i grin and kiss her again.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash pushed him away this time, feeling angry now. Was he cheating on his girlfriend? She stood abruptly and left, "I think I need to use the bathroom." she said, leaving the group

message 55: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Crap!

I jump to my feet with a "Be right back, guys. carry on playing" and hurry after her.
"Bathroom's upstairs, Tash" I say.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She didn't turn back to look at him, continuing up the stair without a word. She couldn't believe how he was treating his girlfriend, she honestly thought he was better than that. Did he do that to everybody? She grew angrier and more jealous with every thought

message 57: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "What's wrong, Tash?" I feel my smile fade, what had i said to her that upset her? She looked half way between punching me in the face and crying her eyes out!

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She turned around suddenly and hit him on the arm as hard as she could. "Why the hell would you do that if you already had a girlfriend?" she asked angrily.

message 59: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Ah, i get it now(!)

I laughed, i couldn't help it. She looked at me, anger flaring in her eyes.

"I'm sorry, that was a joke. A really bad one but a joke nothertheless. I don't have a girlfriend, Tash. I can't believe you thought i'd do that if i did!" I smiled.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Her anger deflated, "That wasn't just a bad joke, it was seriously terrible," she said, feeling more relieved now. "That was really mean."

message 61: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "It was mean, but are you glad?" I feel light headed, probably the alcohol pushing me on but i take a step closer, daring her to move. I push her hair behind her ear and smile.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She blushes lightly, checks becoming a soft pink as she said, "Maybe just a little I guess."

message 63: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "Good, 'cause it's my birthday and if i want to kiss you, i will" I grinned, making sure she knew i was joking rather than being down right arrogant. I leaned in to kiss her, slowly incase she wanted me not to.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She smiled and didn't move away, closing her eyes as their lips touched softly. She couldn't believe she was actually kissing him already after meeting for the first time in so many years.

message 65: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Finally, i was kissing her. I was about to brush a strand of loose hair away from her nose when blackness surrounded us, again. (Start with the horror theme now?) I heard the group from the other room shout out in shock, the guys trying the stay calm but the few girls just shrieking like banshees.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash pulled away slightly from Ryder in surprise. "Maybe we should go back," she said, taking Ryder's hand and making her way quickly towards the room again. "Hey, does this happen with your lights a lot?" shefumblef around in the darkness, trying to find the room again. She felt goosebumps raise on her skin as an unseasonably cold wind whipped past them. Wait... Wind? Inside the house?

message 67: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments I was about make a sarcastic remark about my dad's homemade installation of the lights when a terrifyed scream echoed through the sudden silence of the house.

"RYDER!" Josh's voice cuts through the silence like a knive through butter.

"What the HELL is going on?!" I yell back, determined to have one uninterupted moment with Tash.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* "Let's go back to the others," Tash said, tugging on Josh's hand. "Come on." She managed to lead them back to the room they originally were in. She blinked, trying to get her eyes used to the darkness.

message 69: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments The lights came on, burning brighter than before.

I looked around and my eyes rested on the horror infront of me. Jasmine, my neighbourhood friend since middle school was lying unmoving on the ground.

Her eyes rolled back in a dark, twisted manner. Blood poured from her throat in rivers of scarlet. I heard Tash and a few other's scream as they caught sight of her too.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash paled, hand covering her mouth to stifle her shocked scream of horror. "Oh my god..." her eyes were wide with terror. "What the he'll is going on here?"

message 71: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments "I heard her scream, then nothing. When the lights went back on, she was just...." Josh's voice trailed off, his face ghostly pale in the light.

"Everyone, try and stay calm okay? Josh, phone for an ambulance now, go!" I said.

"Is everyone here?"

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash counted the people in the room, mentally adding Josh as well. "There's... 6 people here now, including Josh," she said, her voice trembling slightly as she avoided looking at the body on the ground until she saw a slight movement. The red around the girl spread unnaturally fast, in lines across the room, it looked like it was about spell something out, forming letters as she faintly heard a child's mocking laugh.

Let's play

message 73: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Shit!

"We all need to get outside and wait for the ambulance okay? Come on, everyone stay together and follow me to the door, now!"

I waited till everyone was standing before walking quickly towards the door.

Another scream pierced the silence, this time i recognised Josh's cries.

I spun around, yelling "JOSH? WHERE ARE YOU?!"

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Everyone stood frozen to the ground as they looked around them, eyes dilated with fear. Tash grabbed hold of Ryder's hand, "He went this way right?" she pulled him through the doorway, running towards the direction of Josh's yells

message 75: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments I let go off Tash, and ran towards Josh's cries. I was determined to get everyone out, and if that mean't leaving Tash for a moment then as much as it pained me, i'd have to.

I came to a halt in the kitchen and came to a halt. Paralysied, i surveyed the bloody scene infront of me. Josh lay on the ground, blood cascading from his throat, like Jasmine. His eyes shone with pain, and ugly gurgling sounds came out of his throat, more blood spilling out.

"Jesus! Josh, stay with me! The ambulance is coming, okay? Stay with me!" I shouted, squeezing his hand in a death grip.

"G...Go...Go." Josh murmured, somehow i was able to understand.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash's squeezed her eyes shut in the doorway, slowly opening them, hoping somehow she was imagining everything.

She wasn't.

"What happened here?" she half whispered.

I said I wanted to play. The child's voice returned, still as soft and menacing as earlier.

message 77: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Something in the back of my head told me to run. Leave Josh and get the hell out of here, but i couldn't. Frozen to the spot, i felt fear overtaking me quickly.

Josh, unmoving, layed deathly still on the floor, his blood moving dangerously close to my trainers.

Suddenly i was able to move again, breathing deeply i walked hastilly to meet Tash who was standing in the doorway, face distant and pale.
"Tash? Tash, we have to move!"

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She nodded slowly and turned, her movements felt slower than usual, it was like she was moving through syrup. Her mind was a haze of fear, she tried to sake her head to snap out of it. "Why is this...." she swallowed and shook her head again before starting to walk a little faster.

message 79: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Just as we were about to reach the door, the lights descended into darkness once more.

"SHIT!" I yell, too far out of reality to care about cursing quietly.
"Tash, don't let go off my hand okay? I'm going to reach for the door okay, stay with me"

message 80: by ~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* (last edited Feb 17, 2012 06:07PM) (new)

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* "Okay," she nodded her head though he couldn't see her, gripping his hand tightly. Something cold and scaly slithered past her leg, then was gone so quickly she half believed it was just her imagination.

message 81: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Something cold and wet slithered between my legs. I froze. Kneeling down before i could talk myself out of it, i brushed the floor with my hands quickly but thoroughly.
A sharp, needle-like sensation pricked the palm of my right hand painfully.

"OW!" I let out loudly, clutching my hand as i stood. "Something just bit me, Tash!"

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* ((My reply disappeared!))

Tash quickly grabbed his hand, eyes straining in the dark to inspect it carefully but she couldn't see an evidence of a wound. "Are you sure? There's nothing!" a slight edge of panic crept into her voice

message 83: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Tash couldn't see anything?! My eyes looked down at my wounded hand, the bite mark clear and bloody to my sight. "Seriously, Tash don't play games right now tell me you can see it!"

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She shook her head, looking at the clear, unbroken skin. "Ryder, there isn't anything there. Your hand's fine," a slight tremor crept into her voice. If either one of them were going crazy, she wasn't sure it was her who was still sane at the moment.

message 85: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments I was about to repeat myself when i heard something whispering, a faint buzz in my ears and a hissing tone said 'Run Ryder, run' i shook my head, determined not to go insane. This wasn't happening, not on my birthday, not NOW!

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* Tash glanced warily around them in the suffocating darkness "Let's get out of here first then look at your hand," she suggested, not wanting stay in the room, her hand read for the doorknob but found only smooth walls. She skimmed her fingers over the surface, but just couldn't locate the door

message 87: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments I tried searching for the door but my fingers were wither sticky with sweat and kept skimming off or we were standing in the wrong place.
"Tash, i can't find the door!" Although i tried to keep calm, i couldn't keep the rising panic out of my tone, reassurance was not at the top of my list right now.

~❤Rikka❤~ *living is just a symptom of dying* She frantically swept her hand over the walls but... "I can't either," she said as she continued searching. "It's just not here anymore!" she was sure they'd been standing in front of it moments ago, what was goin on?

message 89: by Heather (new)

Heather (goodreadscomheather-jane) | 134 comments Suddenly, something swept past my feet, unbalancing me quickly causing me to fall to the floor in a painful sweeping motion. I landed on my back with a THUD. My head began thumping painfully and my throat started constricting, as if an invisible pair of hands was around my neck.
Choking sounds came out of me, barely audible.
